Caitlin shot up in bed. She was sweating and gasping for breath. She still found it hard to believe that Ronnie was no longer here or with her. She missed his presence, him giving her advice and generally him teasing her about everything. She got up out of bed and tiptoed downstairs. She sat in the kitchen, going through her phone and looking at photos of herself with Ronnie
"We were such good friends and so happy. He ruined everything"
Ray came down and sat next to Caitlin. Caitlin leaned into him
"He was my best friend and he ruined it"
"Who?"
"Barry's dad. Ever since he entered my life, it's been one disaster after another. He ruins everything for me. I hate him. I curse the day that I met him"
"But he's Barry's dad? Do you regret your time with Barry?"
"No. Never. That was beautiful. But I don't think that in the face of him and what he's capable of, our love failed. It probably wasn't strong enough"
"But now your both older and wiser. Why not try again?"
"I do want to be with him, but I'm worried about what his dad will do next. Ever since he's entered my life, he's been slowly ruining it. No more. I can't let him do anything else"
"So what are you going to do?"
"Simple. I'm going to ruin him. See how he likes it"
"Caitlin"
"What?"
"Now your not being any better then him"
"Relax. I won't do anything bad. I'm just going to show him how it feels"
Caitlin sat in the childrens room at the charity, watching them all play. She enjoyed it here. Seeing all the little children happy and their hopes and dreams all over their little faces. Kate sat next to her. Caitlin quickly slipped back into the role that she was playing
"I'm Barry's sister Kate"
"Nice to meet you. Your brother here has done a really great job"
"It was his girlfriend's wish. She wanted to do something like this for a long time. He's just fulfilling a promise that he made to her"
"That's nice. I hope that they are very happy together"
"Oh no. It's not like that. Time and circumstances seperated them. But he still loves her and hopes that one day she'll come back to him"
"Well that was interesting to know but I've got a lot of work to get back to so I'd better go. But if you need me, don't hesitate to call me"
Caitlin ran out of the charity and drove away. This was too much
Caitlin stood at the beach, the same place where she had thrown her uncles ashes into the sea and said goodbye
"It's me. I hope that your happy wherever you are. I forgive you for what you did but the hurt that you gave me will probably live on forever. I can put my ego aside and forgive you, but I can't forget it. You were my uncle, my everything and you destroyed me. You've seen what he's done to me, he took away my best friend from me. If you want to help me please help me destroy him. Ruin him like you two ruined me"
