Caitlin entered the cafe alongside Ronnie

"Why are we here Ronnie?"

"To have some breakfast"

"But Ronnie we never come here"

"Well I thought that it'd be nice to mix everything up"

Caitlin looked around and saw him

"Now I know why you wanted to come here"

"Just talk to him"

"Why? I've said everything there is to say. We can't move forward unless he believes what happened, otherwise we're just going around in circles. But he won't accept it. So how do we move forward? He didn't believe you to, but then again maybe it's easier for you as you weren't involved with him, and you weren't affected directly. But I was"

Caitlin turned to leave but Ronnie stopped her

"No. One way or another this has to be resolved. Now go sit down. I'll be over soon"

Caitlin went and sat down opposite Barry. She didn't say anything, so got her phone out and started scrolling

"Oh I didn't know that you still had that photo. It's a lovely one. You two look adorable", said Ronnie approaching and sitting down

"Which one? I want to see"

Ronnie took Caitlins phone and passed it to Barry

"Barry give me my phone"

"In a minute. I want to see this"

"Barry"

"Hang on"

"Give it back", Caitlin said lunging over. Barry wasn't giving it back, so Caitlin tried to reach it, but only got so far as Barry's hand. Barry instinctively wrapped his hand around her. Caitlin looked down and saw her hand. She automatically pulled her hand away

"My phone", said Caitlin holding out her hand

Barry gave it back and Caitlin grabbed it, and ran out of the cafe. Barry looked down at his hand, immediately missing the warmth and touch of Caitlins hand

"I'd better go and find her", said Ronnie rushing out, "you need to stop this and get to the truth before you lose her forever"

Barry looked down at his empty hand, and remembered a time when her hand had been in his, and he had promised to not let go

"Barry what a perfect day", said Caitlin as they strolled hand in hand along the beach

"Well we'll have plenty more like this one. This is my promise to you"

Caitlin looked down at their intertwined hands

"Just promise that you won't let go of my hand ever"

"Never"

Caitlin ran back home, and headed straight for the shower. Maybe this hot water could wipe away her tears, and soothe her soul. She didn't think that she had any more tears left to cry. She was all wiped out. After dressing, she sat in her bed and tried not to think of that day. What good would it do? It would only hurt her more. She was certain of one thing, she couldn't stay here anymore. She had done what was needed so why wasn't she going back? She hurriedly put her clothes in her suitcase

"Ronnie, I can't do this anymore. I just want to get away from here. Let's go back"

"Why now?"

"Ronnie please. Don't ask me anything. I'm not as strong as I once was"

"No you are. You have just been strong for so long that you have forgotten that you are a human too and are allowed to cry and be weak"

"Please let's go. Their is nothing left here for us"

"Fine, we'll go. When do you want to leave?"

"As soon as"

"Why did you call me here?"

"To tell you that you are making the biggest mistake of your life"

"Meaning?"

"Meaning we're leaving soon. Please don't let her go"

"If she wants to go, then I can't stop her"

"Yes you can. Your the only one. Because I know her, she won't be happy without you, and neither will you"

"What do you want me to do?"

"Try to see things from her point of view"

"I've tried but I can't see my dad doing something like that"

"Well then I'm happy. May you live ignorant forever. Caitlin was right. There's no getting through to you, but I thought I'd try, because she loves you a lot. But I'll tell her not to bother and she's just wasting her time. I thought that you were her gentleman. A real gentleman would at least try to get to the bottom of what happened all those years ago"

Barry walked home, with Ronnies words ringing in his ears

"Dad, I need to know what really happened all those years ago"

"Barry, I've told you repeatedly that nothing happened. She cheated with him, and then when she got caught, she spun a story and tried to blame us"

"Dad, she's leaving me again. You know that I can't live without her. Look what happened to me last time. Please dad, what happened? Don't forget that you have a daughter too. Please don't tell me that you ruined someone else's daughters life"
