Caitlin quickly ran through the airport, hoping that she wasn't late and would make her flight. She got through security and just made her flight with a few minutes to spare. She sat back in her seat and closed her eyes. Why had she been summoned after all this time? Would it still be exactly the same? So many questions that she didn't have answers to. The plane took off as memories overtook Caitlin. She had had so much fun there before everything happened and her life was ruined forever. Caitlin felt tears running down her cheeks as everything replayed in her mind. She slowly wiped the tears away and just tried to concentrate on the future
Caitlin quickly put on her sunglasses and hat, as the plane landed. She looked outside through her window and saw that it was really sunny. She quickly put some sunscreen on, just in case and then departed. She got through checkin very quickly and then scoured the arrivals area for him. That face that had summoned her here. She quickly looked around and spotted a familiar face. She walked up to him
' Caitlin, good of you to come at such short notice"
' Why did you summon me here after so long? After everything?"
' I'll explain everything later but first let's get you home"
Caitlin put up her hand to stop him
' I can't. Not yet"
' Caitlin relax. I'm taking you to my house"
They got into the car and sped off. Caitlin looked out of the window. Everything looked the same but could it still be the same after all this time? Caitlin closed her eyes as they drove along. Her life was such a mess. What was she going to do? The journey felt too short as they soon pulled up. Caitlin got out and looked at his house. It still looked the same. Had things changed in her absence? It had been years so things were bound to change
' Come, let's get you inside. Everyone is dying to meet you after all this time"
Caitlin took his arm and went inside. The memories hit her as soon as she entered. How her family used to spend time here, how she would spend time with their children and how they would have sleepovers
' Caitlin, is that you?", asked a lady as she entered the room
Caitlin walked up to her and threw her arms around her
' It's me", she said trying to hold her tears back
' Where did you disappear too? After what happened to your parents, you just disappeared from our lives. We tried to look for you everywhere"
' After what happened, my uncle took me in. He changed my name to protect me from them"
' But you should have contacted us. Didn't we mean anything to you?"
' I'm sorry. I was just a child myself"
' Well go upstairs and unpack. We will talk later"
Caitlin went upstairs and unpacked. She flopped on her bed. Why was she here? What was going on? There was a knock on her door
' Yes?"
He walked in
' Right, I'm going to tell you everything. Your dad gave me the key to your holiday house here and told me to give it to you when you reached a certain age. And as your approaching that age, it's all yours"
Caitlin's hands were shaking as she took the key. She sat on her bed looking at the key
' I'll come with you if you want"
' No. This is something that I need to do by myself"
Caitlin stood outside the house, with the key in her hands. This was it
' Ronnie, I wish that you were here with me"
' No. You wish it was Barry with you, but you're too stubborn to admit it"
' Stop it Ronnie. Even when you're dead, you still won't let this go"
Caitlin shakily opened the door and nervously stepped inside. The memories overwhelmed her as soon as she stepped inside. Everywhere she looked, she could see her mother and father and her little self. She took off all the coverings and sat down. Everything was exactly the same as it was all those years ago. She went upstairs and looked through everything. She finally found what she was looking for and ran downstairs and hung the photo on the wall, where it took pride of place
