"Right Kate, how are we doing today?"
Caitlin started checking Kate over, to see if everything was okay, and the problem was what she feared. She noticed Kate crying
"What's wrong?"
"Caitlin, please save me and my child. I know that I don't have a right to ask after what dad did, but please help me"
"Kate, don't worry. I'm a doctor and I took an oath to help the patient in front of me, even if it was my worst enemy. And you Kate, me and you were always friends. Please remember that. And remember I'm a doctor and I will always fulfill my oath, to the best of my ability. So I'm going to definitely try my best. The rest is in Gods hands"
Caitlin was busy reading Kate's notes from the previous night, and giving her her medicine that she didn't even notice that Kate's family had walked in
"You? What are you doing here? After all this time?"
"Lower your voice sir. I can't stand people who talk in a loud voice"
"But what are you doing here?"
"See the coat? We're in a hospital. I'm your daughters new doctor"
"I see. So your going to avenge yourself by taking it out on our daughter and her unborn child?"
"I told you to lower your voice. And I'm not here to avenge myself. I'm a doctor and I have been called here to assess your daughters case and help out. I have a duty of care to my patients. I will try my best, the rest is in Gods hands. After that, I'll go back to where I came from"
"Dad, do you see? You ruined an innocent girls life and now the universes is avenging her, by taking it out on your daughter", Kate said crying
Caitlin went up to Kate
"Don't cry. It's not good for you or your unborn child"
Caitlin turned around to face Kate's dad
"I'm not like you. I don't go around destroying innocent peoples lives. I try to help people out. If you want to help your daughter, I suggest that you pray for her. Prayer has a lot of power in it, and can work miracles"
Caitlin turned around and walked off. Nora followed her
"Caitlin, I'm sorry. Joe doesn't know what to do, as his power and wealth and status cant do anything to help his daughter. Caitlin, I apologise for what he did to you. I know that you are not like that. But I'm sorry that I couldn't stand up for you at that time"
"Well, it might be late, but I accept your apology. I'm glad that you think I'm not like that, because I'm not. But the one I needed to believe me at that time did not. He left me alone halfway through our journey together"
"I'm sorry"
"Don't be. It might have been hard, but I have moved on. I have a great new life, and most importantly, I have a man in my life who trusts and supports me. So, it was actually a blessing in disguise"
Caitlin trudged her luggage behind Ronnie. She was tired and just wanted to sleep
"Ronnie, how much longer until our train comes? I'm so tired. I just want to sleep"
"It's here. Climb on"
Caitlin climbed on, and watched as Ronnie loaded the luggage. The train started pulling away
"No, no, no", Caitlin yelled, "Ronnie hurry up. The train is leaving"
Ronnie ran up as the train pulled away
"I'll meet you at the next stop", shouted Ronnie
Caitlin collapsed into her seat, and looked around the carriage. She cursed her luck as she saw Barry raising his glass of coke at her. Out of everyone, why did it have to happen to be him she thought? Caitlin shifted in her seat nervously, as some drunk men sat next to her, and started talking to her
"Darling, there you are. I'm sorry about arguing with you, but don't ever leave me again"
Caitlin looked up at Barry, and smiled. Despite everything, he was still helping her. She took his outstretched hand and followed him to his seat
"Thank you"
"I told you that I'm a gentleman, and I'm not going to sit by and let a girl be harassed. Even if I hate her"
Caitlin smiled and sunk into her seat. She woke up when she felt a hand, gently shake her
"Wake up princess. It's our stop"
Caitlin got her luggage and stepped off. She looked around and didn't see Ronnie anywhere. She started panicking
"It's alright princess. I'm here. We'll find your friend together, and if not, I'm here. I won't leave you alone in a foreign place. Follow me"
Caitlin picked up her bag, and followed Barry. What can go wrong she thought?
