XXXII. Paro-Paro

AUSTIN: October 2023

Race Day: Oscar felt like he was flying. "Oscar, Lando is defending. Continue this pace." He heard from the radio. "Copy that." The driver said as he took a sharp right. It was the last lap and he knew he had a big chance.

He just had to push. With Lando defending from P4, he had P3 in the bag. And within a few seconds, it had come true.

Parking his car on the P3 spot, taking out the steering wheel, he got out of the car and raised his fist in celebration. He was greeted by Charles and George (P2 and P1) before he ran to the team who was waiting for him.

Jumping up, they caught him with their arms open. They cheered, it was his first podium of his F1 career. It was something worth remembering.

Once he was let down the ground, he felt Lando behind him. The older driver hugging him, "Mega job Oscar!" he said happy for the Australian.

He was led to the podium, he stood beside George as the British Anthem played. Standing there proudly, wearing the Pirelli 3rd place cap.

And once he was handed the trophy, raising it in the air, hearing the cheers of the crowd and the team. He felt like he was in cloud 9. Another dream fulfilled.

After the celebration, he was led to the winners' interview. He was sat next to George, it was quite the line up and the media was loving it.

They were being asked about their insight on the race and their experience. When it came to Oscar, Angel smiled at him. The reporter was beyond proud him, "Oscar, congratulations on your first podium." She said.

The driver smiled and nodded, "Thank you." He said. Angel smiled wider, he was asked about it more, his strategy, what was different, and how it would affect him.

He answered all of it, but one question made him smile more than the other questions. "As your first win, are you dedicating it to someone specific?"

Angel was his sister, but she was also the reporter that gave the fans what they wanted and needed. And because she knew Oscar like the back of her own hand, she knew what.

Oscar smiled, "There's a lot but one thing is for sure, my paru-paro has been giving me luck." He said. Angel chuckled, she knew full well who he was pertaining to. And so did Charles and George.

The Monegasque leaned to the other two drivers, "Should we be scared now Oscar?" he joked. George and Oscar laughed, the Brit nodded, "Maybe we should be." The two looked at Oscar who waved them off, "Don't be idiots." He whispered.

They were asked a few more questions but Angel decided on asking them all one last question. "Are you all expecting great results for your teams in the Mexican GP like today?"

"No one can expect too much. The team is focusing on today so, we're just happy with the results of this race." Charles answered first. George took the opportunity to answer next, "I think every race can bring multiple results and right now I am absolutely thrilled on where I am and where the team landed this race."

Oscar cleared his throat and smiled, "I'm excited for the next race, I think this win is amazing for the team and we aren't expecting anything just grateful for today."

"Any plans before the next GP?" Angel asked. Charles smiled, "We will probably go see Mia's show but aside from that I don't have any unless something comes up."

George agreed with him, saying him and Carmen will definitely attend the show. This left Oscar again. "I'm joining with the show but I have plans right after so."

Angel smirked but nodded, she knew what he had planned but like everyone else, she was just happy for him.
