XXVIII. No More Fears

QATAR: October 2023

Thalie was talking to Liv, giving her the full attention as she was talking about the recipe for a cake that she was asking for Charles. But from the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the rushing McLaren driver.

Her lips that were smiling turned up into a smirk. Olivia noticed and raised an eyebrow at the model. But all the Filipina did was motion behind her.

Olivia turned around just as Oscar stopped just in front of her. He was breathing heavily as he studied her face, as if he hasn't memorized how she looked.

Olivia couldn't help but smile. Thalie chuckled and patted her back, "Let's talk later Liv?" she asked. The girl turned to her and nodded, "Sure Thalie."

As she waving goodbye to Thalie, not realizing that the driver that was panting was staring at her. Once she turned to him, she pulled into a hug. She couldn't help but smile and hug him back.

"You found my note."

"How could I not find it. I know your penmanship from a mile away Livie." He admitted, his voice soft which made her heart swell. She hugged him tighter, "I missed you Oscy..."

He pulled away and stared at her, "You always know how to surprise me Liv." This made her smile, pushing his hair out of his face.

"Did you at least drink water before you ran here?"

"I had to get to you."

She chuckled and shook her head, "Come on. Let's get you a drink-" "No." Olivia looked at him confused.

"But-"

"What did you want to say?" Oscar asked. His curiosity was eating him up. Her shoulders relaxed and her smile softened, "You really want to know now?"

Oscar nodded, like a child who was excited about something. She chuckled and pulled him further inside the paddock club. Making him sit down in front of her, she grabbed his hands.

He didn't know what to expect. Was she saying that he doesn't have a chance? That she was making him stop waiting? That she changed her mind-

"Oscar?"

He blinked and hummed, "You okay?" she asked. He sighed but nodded, "Yeah, just nervous."

She looked at him confused, "Why would you be-oh." She said as she realized. She intertwined their fingers, "I just realized something..."

He hummed and nodded, he did not trust his voice. It was a motion for her to continue. She took it and gulped, she had prepped her mini speech on the way to Qatar.

She stared straight into his eyes, "I realized that meeting you was one of the most unexpected and scary things in my life."

His face dropped but he didn't get to say anything because she continued speaking, "But it was also one of the best times in my life." His jaw dropped and gripped his fingers tighter.

"I mean, you showed me something I've never felt before. All the love I knew before, they weren't real, but you, you were real." She paused. Her heart beating way faster than she anticipated.

"You truly made me fall in love." That was it for Oscar. "You love me?" he asked. She smiled and nodded, "I do. I fell in love with you, without even trying. You were so genuine in real, it was inevitable for me to not to."

Oscar replayed the words in his head. "And I am here now to say..." she gulped again and smiled, "I don't want to live in the fear of love anymore." She finished.

"You mean..." he could not find his words. His heart filled with so much happiness that his eyes showed. Oscar always told Olivia that her eyes were the most expressive eyes but right now it was his.

His brown eyes showed so much emotion. If it was before, she would been overwhelmed, her heart swelled a million times.

"I mean, you can stop waiting Oscar. I'm meeting you half way."

He stood up, pulling her with him. Walking to her, he wore the prettiest smile she has seen. "You always make me happy." He said.

Olivia smiled back at him, "That's the goal."
