17. Mali with Memories

I woke up groggy to the sound of hard knocking on my door. I turned to see Calum next too me.
"Who is it?!" I yelled. After a few seconds the person responded.
"It's me Gwen, you're mother?" I sighed and poked Calum. He didn't even budge so I decided that I would wake him up the hard way. I just grabbed a pillow and slammed it on his head, covering his mouth with my hand. He shot up, and sent me a hard look. I just shrugged and pointed to the floor, throwing pillows there. "My moms here" I mouthed and he just silently nodded before grabbing the blanket at the end of the bed and curling up on the floor.
"Uh, come in" with that she walked in and her eyes widened when she saw Calum's big body laying on my floor.
"I know, I know. He just stayed over cause he didn't want to be home alone last night.. I hope that was alright." She slowly nodded as relaid washed over me.
"Ok, no problem. I was just telling you that I'm heading to work." I nodded and with that she walked out. The second I heard the front door close, Calum was already back next to me.
"Good morning, or should I say afternoon gorgeous" I blushed a little and pecked a kiss onto his cheek.
"Good afternoon to you too" with that, he pulled me on top of his chest. I nuzzled into the crook of his neck. It was silent other than our breathing. I didn't want to say it now but I have to tell him about Michaels text.
"So. I'm probably going to ruin the moment... But.... Uh, never mind." I sighed and silenced again.
"No, baby. It's ok, tell me." He sounded worried and I sighed again before turning to him.
"Michael texted me in the middle of the night.." I felt his body tense but I just grabbed his hand. "He said: When I close my eyes and try to sleep I fall apart, I find it hard to breathe, you're the reason, the only reason. But you don't remember me and that's what hurts me most. And I wish that time stops and I wish that I could rewind. We were so close, but now we're so far away...." There was a long silence. "Cal?"
"Yeah... Sorry" I nodded and laid back down on his chest. "Do you remember him?" He asked lightly, sounding a little afraid.
"No.... Well when I met him he seemed a little familiar but I couldn't remember why." He nodded slowly as we fell into another long silence. All of a sudden my phone went off, breaking it. I groaned and picked it up seeing that it was Michael.. Again.
"Speaking of the devil" Calum groaned along with me Ava's I picked it up.
"What do you want Michael?" I heard a few shuffles before he answered.
"Come outside." What the hell?
"Uh, no." He huffed and sighed.
"Uh, yeah." I rolled my eyes, as Calum looked at me confused.
"Uh, no."
"Uh, yeah."
"What are you even doing here?!"
"Just come outside Gwen, I want to show you some thing" Calum had his jaw clenched and was squeezing my hand.
"No, Michael. I don't want to see you right now and neither does my company." There was a silence before he spoke again.
"Well, I'm coming in." I gasped and was about to yell at him not too when he hung up on me. I groaned and pushed up from Calum's chest. Just then, I heard my door bell go off.
"He's coming" Calum groaned and got up, kissing my forehead before getting out with me. I looked down and realized that I was only wearing a shirt and underwear, so I ran to my drawer and took out my sheep sleeping pants as Calum tugged on his shirt from last night. I heard light talking from downstairs and I sighed. Wait..... My mom knows Michael.. Shit. I grabbed Calum's hand and practically dragged him out of the room.
"Gwen, calm down." He stroked my hair and I slightly smiled. We made our way to the front door hand in hand before we saw my mom and Michael talking on the porch. I walked out first, as Calum stayed back a little.
"Good morning sweety!!!" My mom shorts from her seat and gave me a long hug. "I assumed that you know Michael.." I nodded and have her a eye signal to leave. She nodded and left the room silently. I crossed my arms over my chest and turned to Michael who was smirking at me.
"What do you want from me?" I tapped my foot as he just watched me.
"For you to remember. I know you're not going to love me the way you used too but I'm sure as hell am going to try." I sighed and leaned against the wall as I heard the door open again. All of a sudden I realized something. Me and Michael were.... Dating??
"Wait..... We.... Dated?" I raised my eyebrows as he just silently nodded, holding out a small book. I felt Calum's state boring into the back of my head as I moved coward and took it. I looked to him before opening it. On the first page it said "I love you to the moon." In curly letters. I nodded slightly before opening the actual book. Every page was filled with pictures of me and Michael hugging, kissing, having fun, and just being.... In love. He looked so different... So innocent. What even happened?? I thought do a second before realizing. I happened. I had to get dementia and ruined our love, and ruined the innocent boy in the picture in the red headed one I front of me. I felt my eyes water as I looked up to Michael again.
"I'm.... Sorry." I whispered, handing the book back to him.
"Huh?" He gave me a confused look but I shook my head.
"In sorry that I can't remember and that I can't change.... We looked happy. And now I am and you're not..." I felt a tear slip down my cheek. At the same moment, him and Calum took a step closer. They have each other a hard look before looking back at me.
"See! I'm pulling you guys apart too!" With that, there was just silence.

~~~~~Next Night~~~~~~
I leaned my head onto Calum's shoulder as we waited at the front door for his sister to arrive. This morning we had realized I never met her so she agreed to have dinner tonight. I'm actually pretty excited, cause she seemed really cool. I coupled minutes passed before there was light knocking on the door. Me and a alum reached for the door at the same time and laughed before he pulled it open. He opened it to reveal a cute and pretty brown haired girl with his features.
"Cal!!!" She screamed, basically jumping into his arms. I stood quietly and awkwardly as they hugged. Soon she realized I was there and released Calum and turned to me. She scanned me up and down before flashing me a smile.
"Hi! You must be Gwen... I'm Mali-Koa but you can call me Mali." I shook her hand and nodded politely.
"Nice to meet you" she smiled again and made her way to the dining room. Calum grabbed my hand and squeezed it before we made our way to the dining room after her.

We were now finished eating and everyone was catching up with each other as I sat there silently when all of a sudden Mali spoke up.
"So Gwen.... I have some questions for you." I nodded and look to Calum who was looking as confused as I was.
"So first, have you and Calum had sex yet?" I nearly choked.
"Uh, no." I answered awkwardly.
"Well are you planning to?" She raised her eyebrows as I retorted a little.
"I don't know." I said slowly, as everyone sent her a scornful look.
"Why are you a virgin?" Now she was pushing it. I coughed awkwardly and pushed my seat out.
"Uh... Excuse me for a second.." I muttered before making my way to the farthest room. I stopped and leaned against the wall. Is she trying to make me uncomfortable? I was in the middle of a dispute when she walked in, closing the door behind her.
"Hi, uh.. I was just com-" she cut me off sharply.
"Cut the crap, bitch." With that she took a step closer to me. "Let's get something clear, ok? First, if you even lay a hand on Calum I'll break you're hand and second of all, I want you out and never to talk to my family ever again." I let that sink in for a second before answering.
"Well first of all, you can't control me and Calum's relationship, and second of all, you don't even know me and are being a bitch so I could say the same." She narrowed her eyes and sent me a hard look.
"You think I can't ruin your and Calum's perfect fairy tail relationship, huh?" She took a step back and reached for the door. She opened it and said one last thing.
"Watch me."
