16. Lost

**Flashback**
I woke up slowly, in an unfamiliar bed in and unfamiliar room.
"Mom!!!!!" I screamed, as I shot up. She barged through the room and stopped in front of me. "Where am I?!" I screamed, looking around in panic. I had no idea where I was or what I was doing there. All of a sudden a man walked in with a worried look.
"Who are you?!" I screamed, and took a step back. He had a confused face and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Honey, are you joking?" He laughed and walked over to me.
"I don't know you!!!!!! Don't touch me" I panicked and ran behind my mom which was the only person or thing I recognized.
"Gwen. Stop playing." I shook my head in fear as I looked around and down to the clothes that I didn't even remember putting on.
"Mom. I don't remember anything.... Who is he? Mans where am I?" I started tearing up and she could now tell that I was serious.
"Hun, we have to bring her to the hospital." She spoke to the guy who I didn't know and he nodded before going out of the room.
"Mom, I'm scared. Where are we?!" I shrieked, as she pulled me into a hug.
"It'll be fine." At this point I was scared out of my mind and lost.

"Gwen had a severe case of dementia." The doctor said, as my mom squeezed my hand. Tears rolled down her cheek as she let it sink in. Yet I was completely confused.
"Dementia is a disorder in the brain caused by diseases or injury.. But in your case, you have the rare effect of memory loss." I didn't understand anything but that was part of the disorder. Then after weeks of being in the hospital, I slowly was able to remember the stranger who was in my house as my dad, and could recognize simple things in my house. Then after a month, I was released. I thought it was going to be better, but it became worse.

"I couldn't remember my friends, family, or even my pets. I could only remember my parents. And when I went to school, everyone thought I was crazy since I didn't know where to go or who anyone was anymore. And then when I told the only person I remembered they told me that I was lying since I had nothing to prove it. So then she told everyone and then I was called names and turned into the weird girl. It was horrible. But then I moved to New Jersey, where everything was better. No faces to stress over remembering, and just a fresh start. But over the years, my dementia went away, and my doctor called it a musical. But I still fear that it'll come back out of the blue... Just like it did the first time."
I wiped the year that had unknowingly slipped down my cheek. I looked up from my hands and to Calum, Luke, Ashton, and Michael. Calum grabbed my hand from under the table and squeezed it.
"I don't know what to say G. I mean.... I'm sorry for what happened.." Luke shyly said, before looking away from me.
"It's fine Luke. It's basically over now." I sighed and looked to Michael who was leaning against the wall.
"So that's why I don't remember you" I spoke louder, as he turned to me.
"I never knew what happened to you. You just disappeared." I nodded and looked around.
"I couldn't handle it anymore.." I felt tears forming but I blinked them away.
"You're so strong. I would've never told anyone." Ashton whispered to what's I thought he meant to himself.
"Thank you... I never wanted to tell you guys but i kind of had too" I sighed and looked to Michael again, who's eyes were already on mine.
"Why did you tell us?" Luke asked questionably.
"Well, Michael wanted to know." I sighed. And the room fell into an awkward silence. I fake checked the time and awkwardly coughed.
"But anyways... It's late... and my moms probably worrying about where I am.." I started to get up, letting go of Calum's hand. Ashton coughed and nodded his head.
"Yeah, me too. I'll see you guys later" and with that I gave Luke a quick hug and Michael a light smile before heading out to my car. I waved to Ashton and got in, with Calum next to me.
"You never told me about that" he had a worried look and looked at me.
"It's not something I like to talk about..." I whispered before starting the car.
"So what happened? I heard allot of yelling when you went outside. And Michael came back with a pretty red cheek." I sighed and focused to the road.
"Well.... I sorta kinda slapped him. Hard." Calum bursted out laughing and I did too.
"Bad ass! I didn't think you had it in you!" I sent him a hard look and hit him.
"Shut up!!" I yelled as he laughed.
"Your mom isn't home is she?" He asked out of nowhere.
"No" I admitted, laughing.
"Can I come over? I got in a fight with my mom" he looked to the window and I nodded even though I knew he was lying.
"Sure."

"No! Shut up!! I love, love, love, love, love, LOVE Disney!!!!" Calum yelled.
"Ok, ok." I laid onto my back and sighed. Me and Calum had crashed in my room after eating Chinese in the kitchen. Now we were in the middle of a game of 20 questions which had already made it to about 40 questions.
"Ok now my turn. Favorite quote and favorite pet name." I smiled and thought about it for a second.
"Hmmm. My favorite quote is You go glen coco! From Mean Girls. And my favorite pet name is probably... Baby girl or princess." He smiled and nodded.
"Baby girl it is" I blushed and yawned. I glanced to my clock and it was already 1.
"Calum!!!! It's already one! Goodnight!" I turned away from him and got into my sleeping position. Suddenly I felt his muscular arms wrap around my waist and pull me against his body. He nuzzled into my neck and I felt all warm and fuzzy inside. It was silent other than the sound of our breathing and heart beats in sync.
"You wanna know something?" He whispered, to my ear. I nodded and smiled.
"I want to be like this forever, with you safe in my arms, with no one in our way." I did a mental awwww and blushed.
"Me too." He kissed my temple lightly.
"You know what?"
"What?" There was a second of silence before he talked again.
"I didn't think I would ever say this to someone but.... I love you" my heart literally melted on the spot.
"I... Love you too." And with that I turned to kiss him and hug him. We laid there in silence for ten more minutes. I was dozing off when I heard him whisper into my ear and kiss my neck.
"Good night baby girl."

I was in a deep sleep when all of a sudden my phone went off next to me. I slapped it and flipped it over. It was a text.
Unknown Number; When I close my eyes and try to sleep I fall apart, I find it hard to breathe, you're the reason, the only reason. But you don't remember me and that's what hurts me most. And I wish that time stops and I wish that I could rewind. We were so close, but now we're so far away.... I want you Gwen. I want you too need me this way. And if you say that you don't feel the same. And if you don't know... Let me go..
I read it over and over again, my mind processing it slowly. It was definitely from Michael. I sighed and put my phone down. I tried and tried to fall asleep but the text kept going through my mind. I almost wish I could remember but I wouldn't have ended up here. But now I love Calum so much, and i won't regret what's in the past. Cause the past is the past and there's no going back. No matter what Michael says.

AUTHORS NOTE: I thought this chapter was going to be longer but oh whale. But anywayssss I updated twice!!!!! And yes I'm very proud. And I was able to put allot of quotes! Welllll I hope you guys liked this short-ish chapter!!
