"I knew that it's you - even though your hair got trimmed!" masayang komento ni Ma'am Liza habang hinahaplos niya yung buhok ko, "Since when did you got your hair cut? You starting to look like me na, ah." tanong niya that gives me so much meaning, ewan ko.

I giggled nervously while playing my scrunchie on my wrist, "Uhmm... last December pa po." I smiled, weakly.

"I see. Hope I don't mind na susuklayan kita, hija." Ma'am Liza said, nilabas niya yung hairbrush niya from her bag. "Is it okay?" tumango na lang ako bilang tugon.

"Good thing that your body temperature is in normal na, but you need more energy and hydration hangga't sa pwede ka na makalabas."

"Hmmm... yun na nga po." ani ko, while she sat down behind me and started doing her thing.

I don't know if I should do this, I thought. Because it sounds disrespectful nga, but...

I've been in the hospital for like 4 hours and 10 minutes. 'Di pa rin maka-sink in sa utak ko na ang naghatid sa akin dito at siya rin yung nagbantay, is none other than Ma'am Liza Marcos herself.

Nahihiya kong gawin 'to, lalo na't parang 'di ko inaapreciate yung mga ginawa niya sa akin. The way she took care of me is just how Mommy Lynn and the titas would do pag nagkakasakit ako. Swift and comforting.

I am worried na baka paliligiran ulit kami ng mga tsismoso't tsismosa at ng mga nasa media dahil lang sa kanya - especially kung involved pa eto kay sir Marcos.

Pero, parang wala lang yun para kay Ma'am Liza. She's fearlessly doing her duty as any mother would do.

And... more importantly.. ba't ganun? Ang gaan-gaan ng pakiramdam ko sa kanya? Parang nung kinausap ko si sir Marcos? Yan din yung nafe-feel ko sa una naming pagkikita dun sa SM - before I knew that she's sir BBM's wife.

But a part of me just told me to do so.

But, sooner... you'll understand why."

Welp... 🙁

I bit my lower lip, bracing myself for her reaction to what am I going to do, "Uhmm... M-Ma'am Liza," ani ko.

"Hmmm?" she asked, humming, while brushing my hair, "May kailangan ka ba? Are you hungry? Need medicine?" she asks like any worried mom would ask, na lalong umaayaw ang konsensya ko na gawin 'to.

"Ahh... w-wag ka po magalit sa akin, ma'am." kabado kong sabi nang nakayuko ang ulo ko.

"Ohh?" sambit niya, "W-Why, hija? Is something's bothering you?" concern neto.

Huminga muna ako ng malalim as panghugot ng lakas ng loob. I can still hear Daddy E's warning kept on echoing in my head, "Alam ko this one sounds disrespectful. But... umalis ka na po."

Tulad ng inaasahan ko, ma'am Liza froze like ice after I said these.

"Wait..." I spoke, felt as if my heart was pricked by the last sentence she said, "... what?" I asked, nagbabakasakali na nagbibiro lang eto.

"Seryoso po ako, Ma'am Liza. Please. Umalis ka na po."

She sounded serious. Real serious.

I put my hairbrush on the bedside table and umupo sa harap niya. "Hija, what do you mean? B-ba't kelangan mo ako paalisin dito?" I asked directly, trying not to raise my voice at my daughter.
