Marta's family arrived yesterday at noon, they all went to explore the city and today we are having dinner with my family!
"My mom wants to cook, so I will go to the store with her so she can pick what she needs!" M says
"Can I help?" My mom asks beside me
"Of course!" Marta's mom, Judit says
They all go to the store and at the house stay me, Marta's sister and father and my sister and her boyfriend
I was a little afraid, at first, to meet her family. They aren't very fluent in English.
But I had nothing to worry about, they are doing their very best to speak English, and they are very good at it, and they are so nice and very welcoming.
They are back from the store and both moms are in the kitchen, the table is already set and we are all spread in the living room
"You and my dad could sing/play something for us!" M says
"You sing?" I ask
"A little bit, I play better than I sing!" He says
After a little debate we settled with 'girl crush' which happens to be our favorite song
As we sing I look up at my girlfriend and she has the biggest smile on her face, and I can't help but reciprocate it
We are all sitting at the table and the dinner is amazing
"You need to come to Portugal!" Judit says
"I went to Sintra, this summer and it's so beautiful, so I will take up on that offer!" my mom says
"I might be biassed but the north is more beautiful" Marta's sister, Violeta, says
Everyone went to bed or back to their houses, but me and Marta
We are sitting on the sofa when she says
"I'm very happy. The fact that this went so well, and they bonded instantly put my heart at ease!"
"Yeah, I feel you! Your family is lovely!"
"Wait till you have the whole family in a room, and they are all speaking in Portuguese!" she laughs
"We can be very loud!"
"Let's go to bed!" I say
