If you're new here and you haven't read my first book at all I definitely recommend specifically the last two or three chapters because you'll be familiar on how the main characters of this book met so run guh read (The Unexpected) and come back.
If you insist on doing so that's fine. Its not like you missed out on anything major you'd just be more familiar with the characters which makes way more sense because this book is almost like a spin off.
