Unexpected love

After the world cup, Shubman and you often interacted with each another. Since you both were almost the same age, it didn't take you two much time to become close friends. You both were often seen together in the hotel corridors or lobby laughing or joking with each other whenever the teams had matches and hotel stays. Even during breaks and vecations, both of you chatted a lot on whatsapp or calls, him being the one to initiate mostly.

You didn't even remember how you both became so close, except for the part that you aided him during the World cup finals. The following days kept passing without you realising how you had actually secured a place in his list of close people, just like how he did in your case.

You both knew each others's likes, dislikes, hobbies and interests. You could easily make out how the other was feeling without the need to ask. The entire GT adored your friendship. You were almost inseparable and the team, whom you generally looked after during IPL seasons, often teased you both to marry each other already. But you both always shook off the idea laughing, saying you were besties.

Since you both were mostly together, you bonded quickly with his team as well. You would often accompany the team in vecations as they always invited you and there was a need of a medic anyway in case any of them injured themselves. So things were pretty good.

It was the IPL season 2024.

GT has been one of the strongest team this season, ranking 2nd in the points table after CSK. CSK had 5 played matches winning all of them followed by GT which won 4 out of the 5 matches. Subhman, the captain of the team, had a big role in taking GT to the 2nd rank . Although all the team members played well, Subhman had the strongest impact on the opponent teams. He scored 107, 88, 64 and 77 and 32 in the 5 matches respectively, 32 being his score in the match GT lost today against CSK. He got rewarded as Man of the Match in 3 of the 5 matches because of his score and brilliant fielding.

You witnessed each of the matches from the stands area reserved for physiologists and supported him side wise taking care of injured players.

Seeing him play big shots was mesmerizing. On the days his team won, You were the first person he would come up to (after shaking hands with the opponent team and exiting the ground), asking about his performance. He would smile brightly after fishing out a few compliments from you.

But today when GT lost, his face was the saddest and the most Upset. He blamed himself for the loss and didn't dare to meet your gaze. He immediately left for his room after muttering a small 'Good Night' to you.

You knew that he would not let any member of his team in his room and you yourself would need to go to calm him down.

After completing your work with a speed of flash, you went towards his room and knocked on the door. After 10 seconds he opened the door..
