Chapter 8

Mary Margaret's POV:

I whispered back to Leah, "We'll go in another time, and if we see him, we'll tell her."

"Ight," Leah replied.

Alex's POV:

We were walking in a boy store, with one being "Journeys," a shoe store.

"Dude, Leah's so fine," I said, but I didn't mean to.

"Okay then. Talk to her then," Shawn said to me while rolling his eyes.

Davion said, "I think she likes you too!"

I sighed and then said, "Let's go get some food, and we might run into the girls!"

We got some food, and an hour or two later, we ran into the girls.

"Oh hey," Davion and Shawn said as Davion went up to Gia and hugged her.

I heard Leah say to Gia and Davion, "Ouuuu, so sweet," in a funny southern accent she can't even do.

Shawn whispered to me, "Dude, just talk to her!"

"Ugh, fine. I'll talk to her!" I said with anger in my tone.

"Yo, bug eyes, can we talk for a minute?" I asked her.

Leah then replied, "Uh... sure." Leah and I walked a few steps away from the group.

"Leah, I know we seem to hate each other's guts, but I kinda have feelings for your stupid ahh," I said.

"Yeah, right. Is this a joke? Haha, very funny," Leah said.

"No, no, it's not. I actually do," I say. Leah seemed speechless/shocked.

"Uh oh, I don't know what to say... I kinda like you too," Leah said.

I usually joke around and prank Leah, but this time I'm for real, deadass. "Would your bird ahh wanna be my girl?" I said.

"Bird chest, you've been my man since middle school. I just hated your guts!"

"Ight then, I guess you're my girl," I said.

Mary Margaret's POV:
To be honest, I knew what Alex said while they walked away. I can tell just by Leah's face she was dying inside.

"She said yes, by the way, Shawn," I said to Keyshawn.

"How did yo stupid ahh know?" Keyshawn asked.

"She's my best friend. I can just tell what he said and what her response was, duh, stupid!" I said to Shawn.

Leah and Alex came back. Alex had his arm around Leah; you could tell they're dating.

I just knew Leah liked him. Hell! She might've loved him. I can just tell that they will have cute babies! I know I'm the crazy best friend who will ship Leah with anyone she likes and then go crazy about the future.

The group walked out of the mall, and Gia and Davion got into Gia's car while the others got into my car.

We went to this drive-in movie. I've always wanted to go to one because I saw them in old movies and read about them in books.

I stole my grandfather's truck so we could sit in the back and watch the movie.

We went to watch some horror movie that had something to do with murder. You could just tell Leah picked a horror movie.

We were sitting in the back of the truck with the tailgate down while the trailers were on. We turned the back of the trunk into a pallet to sit on while we watched.

Leah and I went to get the drinks and popcorn. Two random guys came up to us.
