I slowly opened my eyes, and there he was, my husband, Thaddeus Whitlock,

his handsome face turned toward me as he slept. His eyes were peacefully

closed, and he looked like a child in slumber.

A soft smile graced my lips as I ran my fingers through his hair, causing him

to let out a little groan in his sleep. Gently, I brushed a few strands of his hair away from his face.

I slid the blankets off my legs, revealing my naked body, and took a deep

breath. Memories of our honeymoon here in Paris flooded my mind.

Thad had been doting on me, treating me like I was the most precious thing in the world, and he couldn't keep his hands off me.

With a sense of contentment, I rose from the bed and reached for his white

shirt, which I had playfully ripped off his chest the previous night. I draped it

over my body before heading into the bathroom.

I let out a groan as I prepared coffee in the kitchen. Thad had developed a

morning coffee ritual during our honeymoon, and I knew he'd be joining me soon.

My mother had been urging me to come back home and take a pregnancy
test, not understanding that Thad wanted our honeymoon to continue.

"Your honeymoon is almost a month long now, Sera. Anyway, let me know

when you come back home, okay?" She said before ending the call.

Sighing, I looked at my phone's screen and felt a pair of strong arms wrap

around my waist. I turned to see Thad, bare-chested, smiling down at me.

His eyes were still half-closed, a sign that he had just woken up.

"Good morning," I whispered, then kissed him softly.

"Is that coffee for me?" He asked as soon as I pulled away, his eyes on the

steaming cup.

I nodded and handed it to him. He took a sip and then set it down on the

counter.

"Shall we get back to work now?" He asked, taking my hand.

"What kind of work is that?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

"The one we couldn't finish last night because you complained that your thigh was sore," he replied matter-of-factly.

"Thad, it's still sore," I fibbed.

"You can't fool me, Seraphina. My mother is pressuring me, and so is yours," he said, then effortlessly scooped me up in his arms. I gasped and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"It's already past 9 am, Thad," I pointed out as he carried me towards the

bedroom.

Who cares?" He said, using his foot to open the door as we entered the room.
