Seraphina

"I'm sorry for coming late, Senior. Luna was giving me a handful," I

apologized as I took my seat in front of him.

He smiled and shook his head. "It's fine. Let's order now," he said, signaling the waiter, who promptly approached us with the menu.

"So, what is it that you wanted to discuss with me?" I inquired as soon as the waiter left.

"You won't even let me eat first, Sera?" he replied, offering a short laugh.

"I have an event coming up next Saturday, a charity event with a little party. I was wondering if you'd be available to go with me," he asked, his eyes fixed on me.

"As your date?"

"Not exactly as my date, but as a companion," he clarified.

"Companion? That sounds like a date to me," I remarked with a playful smile.

"Maybe," he conceded, and I couldn't help but laugh

"Why did you deny it in the first place?" I asked, the smile on my lips widening.

"It's just that this is the first time I'm asking you to accompany me to an event, and..." He trailed off, a shy smile appearing on his lips.

I nodded and replied, "I'll be available, Lys. I'll go with you."

"Thank you, Sera," he said with gratitude in his eyes, and I smiled in response, nodding.

Thad

The intercom buzzed, and I picked it up.

"Yes?"

"Miss Castilla is here requesting to see you," Mark's voice came through.

I let out a sigh, setting aside the file I had been holding. "Let her in," I replied.

A few minutes later, the door to my office swung open, and Castilla entered, carrying a basket of flowers, or rather, plants. She was dressed in her usual stylish manner.

"Thad," she greeted with a smile.

"What is this?" I asked, gesturing toward the basket she held, even though I could see the flowers peeking out - they were Peace Lilies.

"Flowers... for you, or rather, for your office," she replied. "I noticed that you don't have enough flowers on this side of your office, so I decided to bring them and arrange them for you."

"Castilla..." I started to protest.

"Don't worry about me. I won't disturb your work. Just do your thing, and I'll do mine," she assured, moving to the right side of my spacious office.

I couldn't help but interrupt her. "Castilla, I'm allergic to them," I admitted, and she immediately stopped, turning to look at me in shock.

"I'm allergic to Peace Lilies. I can't bear to have them in my office," I explained, adjusting my tie slightly.

She immediately picked up the basket and walked out of my office. I let out a sigh of relief as I removed my tie completely and placed it on my desk.

I couldn't remember when this allergy had started, but I knew I'd always had it.

The scent of Peace Lilies made me feel nauseous, and being exposed to them would result in me breaking out in rashes.

A few minutes later, Castilla returned, her expression apologetic. "Thad, I'm

so sorry. I didn't realize you were allergic to it. No one informed me," she apologized sincerely.

"But you know now, so it's fine," I replied with a small smile and returned my attention to the files on my desk.

Castilla shifted the topic, asking, "You still have that necklace?" and pointing to my neck.

"Yes," I confirmed, and she nodded in response.

A moment passed, and as she prepared to leave, she reached for her bag. "I should take my leave now. Is Peace Lily the only flower you're allergic to?" she inquired, turning towards the door.

"Yes,"

She smiled slightly and nodded.

"Castilla," I called out, making her stop in her tracks and look back at me.

"It's your birthday on Wednesday. Let's have dinner together," I said, and a surprised smile graced her lips.

"I thought... you forgot," she whispered.

"You're my friend, Callie. Why would I forget your birthday? I'll pick you up at 5 pm on Wednesday," I assured her.

"Okay. I'll be expecting you," she replied with a smile before turning and walking out of my office.
