SCENE 1

On the boulevard near Lake Pichola, a heavy and stylish bike was being rode at a rash speed by a guy. His slender fingers clutched the accelerator, aiming to pick even more speed when his smart watch indicated his mother's incoming call. He stopped the bike and took off the helmet to reveal his handsome face and his silky hair started blowing by the top due to the wind. Almond shaped mesmerizing hazel eyes in which the sunshine reflected, a sharp jawline, his soft rose pink lips that were neither too big nor too small, simply perfect and curling into a smile as he attended the call.

"How do you always get to know I'm racing the bike ?" - he asked making his mother chuckle.

"Because I am your mother Abhi. And why haven't you reached yet ?" - she asked, complaining.

"Sir has grown up but his habit of snitching hasn't left yet." - he said, rolling his eyes.

"Abhi..." - she gently chided. "Doctors should be on time no ?"

"I know Maa and I always reach when the patients need me. Ask your husband to not do Tandav." - he said.

"Drive slow now. And on return, I have to talk to you about Mrs. Jha-"

"Okay Maa, I'm getting late. Bye." - he rushed to interrupt his mother, knowing all too well she was about to dive into her favourite topic.

"Abhi, you never listen whenever I bring forth your marriage."

He sighed. "Because I don't believe in marriage Maa. Some couples openly suffer, while some secretly and pretend to be happy. It's of no use. Anyways, I'll see you at home."

His mother sighed in defeat but he knew it was for the time being. "Fine. Take care of yourself and drive slow!" - she ordered again, making him smile.

"Duly noted Maate." - he said, chuckling, and ended the call.

Putting on his helmet, he started driving again, now slower than before, but had to put sudden breaks as he took in the sight ahead. The bridge was broken. But he had travelled from the same path just last evening, then what happened to it overnight ? He shook his head frustrated and turned back. He would need to take the other route now which was longer.

'Oh, at least I can excuse my rash driving as to not get late.'

A mischievous grin appeared on his face and he drove off.

SCENE 2

Institute Of Medical Sciences, Banaras University, one of the most notable medical universities of the country. The campus' vast land was occupied by not only the college, but it also had a large hospital with the same motto of 'no virtue greater than the treatment' as the university. Apart from that, the campus contained student and resident hostels, staff quarters, a post office, a temple, playgrounds and sporting fields. While the hospital section of the campus was typically crowded and busy, the residential part was quiet and idyllic punctuated with small parks.

IMS looked busy on the fine Monday morning. After clearing out the entrance exam, the lucky students had been enrolled in the first year of MBBS and by the hustle and bustle, it was evident the freshers were trying to navigate their way through on the first day while staying clear of the mischievous seniors at the same time.

But not all seniors were alike.

Two girls, wearing lab coats and holding notebooks in hands, were making their way towards the vast playground covered with lawn when a first year collided with them in his hurry to reach the class.
