"Do you know who I am?" She continues.
Please tell me she did not just say that, at this point, I was getting a bit pissed off with her and confused with her actions.
"Wait so it is true, America is like the movies! Now I know why knockoff Regina George is using cliche lines like that to intimidate me" I finally reply.
There were a few snickers across the room, that pissed her off.
"My father is the one paying for the majority of your scholarships you stupid little Australian. One bad review to him and I'll make him revoke his sponsorship money to the school...it's your choice"
I felt the anger boil up inside of me, she was threatening me. On my first day, I was being threatened by a bimbo who wasn't even a real blonde.
"Maybe I should show you how us stupid little Australia's deal with our conflicts!" I say while standing up, ready to punch on with her.
Deep down I knew what I was doing was excessive, but I'm a hot headed hockey player, violence is the only thing I know.
I stand up from my desk but my actions were interrupted by Julie,
"It's not worth it, get out of the chair Aus"
Anger was still pumping through my blood, but I knew Julie was right. I gave up on that bitch. I wasn't going to lose my scholarship over some chair.
I got out and sat behind Charlie, making sure not to look that girl in the eyes. I just knew she had a smirk on her face from her victory.
I was slightly embarrassed, I had never backed down from a fight, but I suppose things were different now. I had a lot more than just my reputation on the line.
The class had gone back to chatting again, almost pretending what happened didn't happen. Charlie quickly turned around and winked at me. Just like that, my anger was gone.
A few seconds later the teacher walked in.
"Every Monday you'll have a practice quiz, every Wednesday you'll have a real quiz, every Friday you'll have an exam, and anytime I feel like it.... you'll have a surprise quiz or exam." She said before sitting behind the desk.
Americans don't like to introduce themselves I guess.
🏒🏒🏒
"Ugh, how do I have homework already" I complain while falling back on my makeshift bed.
"Honestly don't even remind me, I already have an exam at the end of this week," River said while walking into the bathroom.
I get up off the bed and walk over to Connie and Julie who are currently watching some popcorn in the microwave pop.
"Julie said you almost got into a fight today Aus"
I pull out the chair and sit across from them, putting my hands in my head, I sigh.
"Yeah, no, I don't know but some bitch pulled the whole 'do you know who I am?' card"
The brown hair girl scoffed,
"I was expecting to meet some stuck-up kids at this school, but not this many this quickly"
I hum in agreement.
"I had a girl assault me with a Pom Pom this arvo" River added as she walked back out of the bathroom, her hair now in a neat ponytail.
I laugh at the thought of that before being distracted by the microwave beeping to signal that our pre-training meal was finished.
We grab the bag out and begin to munch on the buttery food. She continued to chatter away until once again our attention was grabbed by a sound.
Except this time it wasn't the microwave, but instead a slight tapping sound coming from outside the window.
We all rush over to see what it is, we are all slightly taken aback. I open the window a bit,
"What the fuck are you doing Charlie?" I yell out.
Standing at the bottom of our dorms was Mr Conway, throwing stones at our second story window.
"Awww are you trying to Romeo and Juliet Aus?" Connie says sweetly.
I blush,
"Uhhhh not this time, I couldn't get past the grumpy lady stopping boys from entering the building. So instead I've resorted to this... I've come say that they moved training back a half an hour, so we now have ten minutes to be at the rink" he whispered and yelled back.
Fuck, as if in unison we all bolt to our gear bags and race out the door, knowing damn well the rink was another 15 mins away.
Yep, what a great start to the school year.
