I mean it's an opportunity of a lifetime, but yet again a River has been my best friend since forever. It didn't matter how many positives came from the scholarship my brain continued to remind me about the fact River wouldn't be with me.
I laid on my bed writing in my notebook, I split the page in half and wrote pros and cons on each side.
Pros:
I'll be reunited with the team
Charlie
Scholarship
New environment
Get to play hockey more
Good education
Cons:
River isn't there
I was suddenly pulled from my thoughts,
"Elyse teas ready!" I hear my mum yell
"Coming" I yell back.
I slam close my laptop which contained homework I had yet to even start, and dropped my notebook onto my bed.
This was going to be a tough decision.

Time was going slow when I woke up the next morning. I'm a very fast-paced and quick sort of person but this morning everything just seemed to be going in slow motion.
I was just preparing myself for the enviable which was having to tell River that I had gotten a scholarship. I knew that as soon as I told her about it she would be so happy for me, she would insist that I take the opportunity.
We always dreamed of getting a scholarship to some big sports school together, her as an aspiring coach and me as a player.
I skate through the halls until I come to my locker, I begin slowly but surely taking my skates off.
River suddenly popped up next to me,
"Morning Aus," She said excitably.
"Morning River," I say.
I pause, I was going to tell her.
"I have to tell-"
"Wait wait wait! Before you say anything I have something to tell you" She interrupts.
I looked at her confused.
"Now I know what you're going to say but I promise you I'm not taking it" She begins
My confusion begins.
"But last night, I got a letter in the mail. I have been given a scholarship to a school in the US called Eden hall academy as a part of their' future coaches' program" She continued.
My jaw dropped.
A/N Sorry, all this is another boring and small chapter! I promise the content will get better when we get to the part when Elyse is reunited with the ducks!
