I lost contact with the team, I didn't mean to it's just hard when you live halfway across the world. At first, we all tried to keep in contact via phones but once the phone bill came in it was just too expensive to keep in contact that way.

We ended up resorting to the old school way and began mailing letters to each other, the only problem was that the letters would take a month to get from Minnesota to Victoria and vise versus. Despite this difficulty, we put up with the wait and continued to send letters to each other. It was kind of funny actually, I mean I received a 'Happy birthday' card a month after my birthday.

I would receive the letters on the 17th of every month, these were my favorite days. I would skate to the nearest post office, pick up the box of letters and skate back home to read them. Inside the box, there were 16 letters, one from every team member, one from the coach, and one from Dean to River.

I loved reading every single letter (even Dean's to River) but my favorite above all was Mr. Charlie Conway's. I mean sure we never were officially dating or anything but we still have the connection we had during the goodwill games.

Each of the letters documented what the team was up to, how they were going, and what was going on in their lives. From what I can recollect,

Connie and Guy are stronger than ever

Adam got a new pair of ice skates and continues to fall head over heels for Julie

Julie is either talking about Adam, this random asshole she keeps complaining about who goes to school with her, or how bad her period pains are.

Kenny continues to beat people up with his newfound powers

Fulton and Dean have finally started to listen to Aussie rock as I suggested to them.

Dwayne managed to break his arm after getting attacked by a cow.

Jesse was sent to a new boarding school along with his brother Terry.

Russ has managed to get into two fights because of his quick tongue.

Goldberg discovered fairy bread (thanks to me) and hasn't been able to stop eating it.

Coach says he misses my quick tongue and attitude.

Averman was able to get his old job back at the cinema after he stormed out on the job during the duck's reunion.

And Charlie misses me...like a lot..it's pretty much all he says in his letter.

But, eventually, after five months of sending letters back and forth, the letters stopped. I guess it got to the point where it was also way too hard writing letters to people halfway across the world.

It was six months since I had gotten back from the goodwill games, and life felt odd. Everything just went back to normal, I went back to my old team and went back to school.

The only new advancement was during the first couple of weeks of school I became the new hit. Everyone just couldn't stop mimicking me by sticking their tongue out when I walked through the halls.

"Bye River!"I yell out.

"Cya Aussie" She yelled back.

School had just ended for the day and I did my monthly skate to the post office in the hope to pick up a box full of letters from the team. It took me around fifteen minutes to reach the local post office.

Maybe they just forgot to send me the letter last month?

I opened the door to the post office and the cute little bell rung. A small lady popped up from behind the counter.

"Hey Elyse," She says.

"Hey Mary, anything for me today?"I ask.

I had lived in the same town ever since I came over from America so I knew everyone who lived in this town.

"Yes actually, just give me a second" Mary says before popping into a room behind her.

I begin to wander around the post office.

"So how was school today darl?"She asks.

"Oh not too bad, I'm just looking forward to the weekend" I reply while looking at a bunch of postcards.

"Same," She says as she walks back through to the front.

I chuckle before walking back up to the counter.

"This is yours, it looks fancy," Mary says before passing me a letter.

Well, it wasn't what I was hoping for, but she was right it did look very fancy. On the front my name and address were handwritten in pretty black ink, on the top left corner there was a stamp and on the top left there was a symbol.

"Thanks, Mary, I'll see ya later," I say while walking out of the office.

As soon as I got outside I ripped open the letter,

Dear Miss Elyse Brondayle,

We have seen your amazing skills on the ice and we would like to offer you a scholarship to our prestigious school, Eden hall academy.

What the fuck?!
