Mob attack

I spin around at a million miles an hour almost knocking myself and River over, but yet the spinning felt like it went on forever.

I felt an immense amount of fear, anxiety but also love and excitement, but what was behind me was what I wasn't expecting.

I stare blankly at the figure in front of me.

"Long time no see," Coach says while pulling me into a big hug.

I had worked myself up so much that I thought it was Charlie behind me. I dreamed day in and day out about this moment, the time I finally get to be embraced in Charlie's hug.

We would run into each other's arms as everything around us stopped...lowkey think I'm becoming a hopeless romantic...something I didn't ever expect to happen.

Oh well, it is what it is I suppose not everyone has that movie-like life.

"Not bad coach not bad" I finally reply.

"Well I'm glad, and how about you River, got any new warm-ups for the team?"

"I have a couple of things in the works "River replies.

Coach chuckles.

"So hmmm where is the team" I try to ask discreetly.

If the coach knew how much I missed them he was bound to tease the hell out of me.

"Wow no hey coach what's been up lately? Shit hurts Aussie, shit hurts"

I punch him playfully in the shoulder.

"They'll be here soon I hope, I mean you can't be late for your own ceremony," He says.

"I wouldn't put it past them" I chuckle.

"We'll your not wrong"

We all chuckled, but out of the corner of my eye, I could see Bombay was trying to suppress a smile and staring at something else during that hole conversation.

Something behind me...

All of a sudden what felt like a truckload of people landed on top of River and me. We all fell to the ground and from above us, I could hear laughs.

"Welcome home Aussie and River" They all yell.

We had just been jumped by the whole team, everything suddenly felt right again.

"Get off me you fuckwits" I try to say.

To talk while having 12 people on you and also being winded is easier said than done. One by one they all piled off slowly but surely reliving the weight that was put on River and me.

Julie and Averman offered a hand to River and me, which was much needed after the elephant that was just upon our backs.

I stood up and looked at all the faces of people I had missed so dearly, I wanted to cry happy tears. It's a bit dramatic I know but I missed everyone.

I quickly dove into Julie and gave her the hug of a lifetime before doing the rounds and hugging the others.

I reached the final person.

"Welcome home dipshit," He said.

I stood there and stared into his eyes.

This time it was Charlie.
