KAKUYA POV

OH HELL NO!!! It's bad enough Trey's fighting with me over custody of Jagoo, but you and your punk ass friends went after my daughter!? Without hesitation, DeVante and I filed a report with the police and let me tell you all the charges they hit Trey with:

- Assault

- Menacing

- Stalking

- Sexual harassment of a minor

- Intimidation

- Mob action

He's being held without bail in jail whilst the DA and his lawyer negotiate some sort of deal. If I had my way, the motherfucker would be doing a life sentence (that happens, you know). The most important thing is that Kasem is fine. She's bruised up but my baby is a survivor, much like her Mama! Khalil went through the ROOF when he found out someone hurt his big baby, but he was smart and let the law prevail. I was relaxing on the couch while DeVante was making lobster and steak for us.

Me: Hello?

DA: Hello Ms. Mandrake. How are you?

Me: Fine.

DA: You are going to be better when I tell you the good news!

Me: Good, I can't take any more bad.

DA: Because the attack on your daughter was a violation of his probation, Trey will be spending the next nine months in jail. He will not only have to pay Kasem's medical expenses, but also there will be a seven-year restraining order in effect.  Trey must stay 120 yards away from you and Kasem.

Me: He'll give up his rights though, right?

DA: No, he's still fighting for visitation. But a judge has signed papers for you to have sole custody of Jagoo. Upon his release, he won't be able to have visitation with the baby unless you say so.

I sighed.

Me: Okay.

DA: I know you want him gone, but he is the father of your daughter. You can't cancel it out. You have a good day!

Me: I will.

I forgot that Trey was on probation for a drunk driving charge he caught back in '05. I don't want Trey in Jagoo's life because he won't provide for her the way she deserves. DeVante finished dinner and sighed.

Me: Look, I know you feel some type of way about all this, but it'll work itself out in the end. He's sitting in jail, he can't see you or the baby....at least for the time being, but I'm here every step of the way.

I kissed him on the lips and we hugged. If only, if only it were that easy. Something tells me that we aren't in the clear....
