Today was the day of the grand ball, and I found myself in my chamber, surrounded by the excited chatter of Aminah and Amna. They were busy preparing me for the ball, and as they pulled out my navy blue gown, I felt a mix of reluctance and anticipation. I had finally agreed to go to the ball, despite my initial reservations.

My cousin, Fatima, had already left the chamber, all dressed up and ready for the day. I watched her go looking flawless and pretty in her pink gown but was soon brought back to the present by Amna and Aminah, who were now focused on adorning me with jewelry and applying makeup.

As they took out pieces of jewelry, I slipped out to the small terrace of my room, overlooking the palace courtyard.

From there, I could see the crowds of people entering the palace, mostly young girls, all dressed in their finest. The excitement in the air was palpable, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging, even though I had been hesitant about attending.

After a few minutes, Amna called me back into the chamber, and I  left my quiet spot. I took my place at the vanity, while Aminah meticulously arranged my wavy hair to one side and expertly applied makeup to enhance my features.

As the final touches were lovingly and meticulously completed, the resonating cacophony from the grand hall grew more pronounced, a constant reminder that I was running late. Aminah and Amna, their faces filled with anticipation and excitement, took leave to prepare themselves for the ball. I watched them with a bright  smile thanking them for their effort before they left, realizing that the preparations were a shared experience, creating a bond between us.

With a sigh of apprehension and a mixture of eagerness, I turned my gaze to the full-length mirror in my chamber. The reflection before me revealed a transformed version of myself. The navy blue gown I wore seemed to have a magical effect, accentuating my figure and making me feel beautiful. The intricate details and delicate fabric shimmered in the soft light, and the jewelry adorning my neck and wrists added a touch of elegance.

It was a strange sensation, seeing myself as someone ready to attend the grand ball, where I had initially been so hesitant.

After a moment of self-reflection and self-doubt, I took one last deep breath and adjusted my gown with a newfound sense of confidence. With a slight smile on my lips and a glint of determination in my eyes, I left the chamber, ready to face the grand hall.

I walked through the elegantly lit hallways of the palace, each step bringing me closer to the grand hall. The guards, recognizing me, nodded in acknowledgment, and I responded with a polite nod as they opened the grand hall's massive doors for me.

I took a deep breath as I entered the grand hall, the sight of the beautifully decorated venue and the sound of laughter and music enveloping me. The grand ball had begun, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness as I made my way further inside.
