The 19th of August, 1957.
«You call us when you get there, sweetheart.» My Mama held me, not wanting to let go of her daughter. Spending a couple of days at the summer Mansion had brought on questions about what I wanted to do with my life going forward. It had gotten me closer to my mom again, and for the first time in a long time, I felt the combination of my life in Madison and the life I'd created at Graceland. I had almost forgotten, but in a few days' time, the girls and Benny, Regina's boyfriend, were coming over to visit me in Memphis, so I hoped the bridge would only grow stronger.
«You sure you want to go back, pumpkin?» Wanting to hold me back, I knew my dad wanted me to think through moving back home to Madison. I had no plans to, though. Graceland and Elvis had become my home.
