Chapter forty eight-"Wheres the rest of us"

I sobbed as I drove down the road the blood on the window made it worse I couldn't stop thinking about my family I needed to know if they were okay or dead the sun was up by now helping us see but I still couldn't see well due to my eyes blurry since I was crying

My hands were shaking so badly at this point and I was so tired I was in shock"Oh my god"I said looking at the leaves on the road as I drove down it"Oh my god"I gripped the wheel tightly"All right let's just let's just circle back to the highway"I shook my head"Did you see mom did you see did she make it"I asked looking over at him

"I didn't see anything"I closed my eyes and opened them again"And Carl We lost Carl we've gotta go back"I couldn't just leave them there"We can't go back okay there's nothing to go back to"I sobbed trying to keep looking at the road so I didn't crash"I I don't know ware Carl went maybe he set the fire maybe your mom got him"

"Did they make it did mom make it"I asked again hoping he would tell me "I don't know"I whimpered trying to keep it in but I just couldn't"what if they didn't make it what if nobody made it"I couldn't lose my family all in one go I couldn't"They made it okay they had to"I really wish I could believe that but I couldn't

"All right let's just circle around to the highway where we left supplies for sophia"I looked over at him"The herd came from that way Glenn"I said sobbing driving across a bridge"Just stop the car just stop the car"I sniffed and pulled to a stop"Let me drive"He got out of the car so I climbed over the console and took his spot

I couldn't hold the tears I couldn't stop thinking about My family being ripped apart by those things I sobbed loudly"Hey hey hey hey"Glenn said grabing my arm"Hey Avery look at me look at me"you know the pain from crying so much in your chest that's what I was feeling right now

"Hey were Alive we made it"I looked at him in the eyes"Okay I'm sure they are too"His soft voice was calming me I nodded slowly we haven't made this much eye contact full of love in his eyes in awhile"Right"I still was crying trying to get a breath"I love you"My heart stopped at his words

I been trying to get him to say that to me for a long time that seemed to due the trick because I wasn't crying as much"Avery I love you"I think my heart was about to melt never have I had a guy say that to Me"I should've said it a long time ago and it's been true for a long time"

I smiled my body was still shaking but I was calming down"Were gonna be all right okay well be all right"I nodded no longer sobbing like I was before"okay yeah"I said looking ahead he drove forward I was trying not to think of my family because if I did I knew I would start crying

Roaring of a motorcycle made me look behind I smiled when I saw Daryl and Maggie"Daryl and maggie made it"I said looking back over at Glenn"I told you were not the only ones"I nodded more confidently this time grabing his hand I couldn't believe he told me he loved me

I looked over at him with a smile things have really changed since the camp Daryl curved around us and was now in front of us maggie holding him tightly it didn't take us long to get to the highway Mom was okay we seen her come up behind us to Glenn pulled into the spot we left Sophia and dad was okay even Carl

As soon as the car was parked I jumped out"Avery!"Carl yelled running up to me I grabed him holding him tightly"Oh Carl"I cryed shaking my head dad came up to Me hugging me when mom got out Carl sprented towards her"Thank god!"Mom cryed I ran up to her and we grouped hugged

Dad came down next to us and held us tightly in the corner of my eyes I say Beth and maggie hugging Hershal and I couldn't help but smile"Whered you find everyone"Dad said standing up I stood next to him and walked over towards Glenn who rapped his arm around my waist

"Well those guys tail lights zigzagging all over the road"Daryl said pointing at us I smiled and looked down"Figured he had to be Asian driving like that"I snorted nudging Glenn"Good one"Glenn sais with a chuckle he looked down at me I smiled at him and looked over at Daryl

"Wheres the rest of us"I sighed and looked down"Were the only ones who made it so far"Dad said looking at Daryl"Shane"Mom asked standing up from Carl Dad shook his head I sighed he was a hothead but I didn't want him to die"Andrea"Glenn asked next to me removing his arm"She saved me then I lost her"Carol said next to Daryl

"We saw her go down"T said hanging on the truck door"patricia"Herhsal asked holding his girls close"They got her to took her right in front of me I was-"Beth crying Maggie was holding her hand tightly"I was holding onto her daddy she just -"Here I was thinking that I could have lost my family and her Beth achully losing her family I felt really bad

"What about Jimmy did you see Jimmy"Beth asked her sister Maggie shook her head nowhere was in the Rv it got overrun"Dad told her she put her head back into her dad's chest"You definitely saw Andrea"Carol asked hoping she could still be out there"There were walkers everywhere"Mom answered

"But did you see her"When no one answer Daryl made his way to his bike"Im going back"Maggies face went pale"No"Dad said stopping him from getting on his bike"we can't just leave her"Daryl has been different since Dale he's not so distant"We don't even know if she's there"Mom added 

"She isn't there she isn't she's somewhere else or she's dead there's no way to find her"Dad told mom"So we're not even gonna look for her"Glenn looked down at me then back up at dad"we gotta keep moving there  have been walkers crawling allover here"

"I say head east"T said we gotta fund a place before winter it's gonna be cold especially since all of are stuff got left behind"Stay off thr main roads the bigger the road the more walkers more asshole like this one I got him"Daryl picked up his crossbow and shot the walker in the eyes the body fell to the floor

We were leaving the truck behind we didn't need it I got in with Glenn and we drove away Maggie was on the back of Daryls motorcycle in front of us as we drove down the road another place gone I really liked it there two it was a good farm let's hope we can survive this long winter that's coming up
