chapter twenty six-"Back with Avery"

Glenn Pov

"I won't do it we can't just leave"Carol said looking back over at Dale we needed to go I needed to get to Avery"Carol the group is split we're scattered and weak"I held my bag looking at her

"What if she comes back and we're not here it could happen"Shes right someone needs to stay but it's not going to be me"If Sophia found her way back and we were gone that would be awful"what do we do then I know someone needed to stay"Okay we got to plan for this"Daeyl said

"I say tomorrow morning is soon enough to pull up stakes give us a chance to ring a big sign leave her some supplies"I can't wait a whole nother day I have to be with Avery"Ill hold here tonight stay with the Rv"And I will go to Avery

"Thank you thank you both"At least we have a plan now we just got to follow through"Im in"Andrea said I nodded geuss it's me and T dog who are going"Ill take T well take Carol's Cherokee"I looked over at Dale"Alright we got a plan then it's good your taking him Glenn because that arm of his is getting worse we need to get him some medicine if we dont he might die"

Daryl walked over to his bike and took off a rag and digged through his bag my eyes went wide seeing tones of pile bottles"Keep your oily rags off my brothers motorcycle"He threw the rag at Dale and went through the bag"whyd you wait till now to say anything got my brother stash"

A part of me thought it was his stash and he was lying but I was hoping that's not the case"Crystal x don't need that got some kick ass painkillers"He threw them towards me and I caught it with ease"Oxycycline"He tossed them to Dale

"Not the generic stuff neither it's first class Merle got clap on occasion"He then walked away I hate to say it but thank God For Merle and his drugs

We pulled up to a house that had its lights on Avery in that house I need to see her as soon as possible I pulled to a park and jumped out of the car and ran to the porch

T followed behind me slowly we I got to the porch there was blood knowing that that might be Averys blood hurt me even more"I need to see Avery do we just ring the bell it looks like people live here"I say looking over at T then the door

"You gotta see your girl right we're past this kind stuff"we weren't past it but I need to get to Avery that's the only thing on my mind I walked futher onto the porch"Did you close the gate up thr road when you drove in"The chick from before said sitting on a chair

"Yeah we closed the latch and everything listen I need to see Avery"I didn't want to sound rude but Avery was so close to me and this chick was in my way She stood up and stood in front of ud  T grunted the girl looked down at Ts arm"Its not a bite I cut myself pretty bad though"She nodded taking a step closer

She was looking at me oddly in a way that said she thought I was attractive now don't get me wrong she's pretty but nothing compared to Averys beauty"well have it looked around I'll lead you to your girl"She said with a smile

"We have some painkillers and antibiotics"I went through my bag maybe these will help Avery to"I already gave him some if Avery Needs any"she opened the door"Come on inside you can see Avery and then I'll make you something to eat"I nodded thankful

She lead us into a room ware an old man was checking Averys blood pressure"Oh my god Avery"I said looking down at her pale skin laying down in the bed she looked lifeless"Glenn she's been asking for you"Rick said standing up but stumbling

"When Herhsal was working on her she keep screaming your name"I looked down at her I should have been there"Can I"I said pointing to the chair He was just sitting at"Y-yeah yes go ahead"I ran up to the chair and sat down

I took my hand off next to Lori I reached my hand out and grabed hers they were cold in my hands I looked up to see Maggie frowning I looked back over at Avery I was jot gonna leave Averys side no matter what

"I-is she in pain"I asked the old man as he stood up"Shes past out she dosan't feel anything"Glenn why don't you go get something to eat I'll stay here with her"Lori said looking over at me with a soft smile"No no I can't leave her side"She sighed and nodded"I been so worried"

She rubbed my back"your good for her maybe now that she hears your voice she'll pull through"I looked up at lori"She will pull through she would have even if I wasn't here she's strong"I said moving a peice of hair out of her face

Rick pulled up another chair next to Lori I tensed up when The old man pulled down the blanket her belly was bloted and why was she just in her bra who took her shirt off"They don't get back soon we're gonna have a decision to make"

I looked at Rick and Lori Counfusd"What does he mean by that"I asked grabing her hand tighter"Shane and the man that shot her went to go get something to pass her out because she was moving and screaming"The man nodded

"She can't move while I'm doing surgery or ill cut an artery and she'll die but we're running out of time we need to make the decision to do the surgery with out it"I bit my lip fear on my face as I looked down at her"he told us that wouldn't work"Lori said with a sniff

"It's extremely unlikely but we can't wait much longer"He said looking at us three she could die I couldn't lose her"What do we do"I asked in a shaky voice looking over at Lori who jumped up from her chair Rick stood up and followed her

"How long does she have if we don't do it now"I asked looking up at the man just us in the room"Less then a couple hours"I closed my eyes my hands shaking"C-can I have a minute"I asked looking down at her he nodded and stood up"ill have Maggie bring you in some food"

I smiled up at him before he walked out that's when I really broke down I layed my head on her shoulder"Avery if you can hear I'm here and you can fight this"I sniffed shaking my head I leaned up and kissed her softly on the lips

Maggie came in with a cup and a plate"Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt"She said as I plopped back down on my chair"Dont worry about it"I said as she handed me a cup of tea and a sandwich"Your friends stiched up"She said sitting down on the bed next to Avery

"She beautiful"I smiled and looked down at her"Yeah she is"She smiled looking up at me then back down at her"How long have you guys been married"I shook my head"were not uh married"I said rubbing my hand along her tumb"oh the way you were acting towards her seemed like you were"I shook my head

I never thought about me and Avery married I wasn't ready for that I knew I like Avery"Shes just my beautiful girlfriend"She looked down at her"I envy that"she said looking over at me"Envy what"I asked looking over at her

"Love"Did I love her I know I really liked her I just didn't know Rick and Lori walked in"How is she"Rick asked looking down at me"The same"Maggie stood and walked out of the room they sat down Lori croched in front of him and layed her head on Ricks legs

"Before it happend"He started I looked up at him"we were standing there in the woods and this deer just crossed right in front of us"I looked down at Avery as I listened to him"I swear it just planted itself there"I feel like I should give them a minute but I'm scared to leave Avery

"And looked at Avery right in the eye and I looked at Avery looking at that deer and that deer looking right back at Avery and that moment just...."He traild off looking over at me then down at Avery"slipped away it slipped away that's what she was talking about when she woke up"

The thought of me not being here when she woke up hurt I should have been here for that"Not about getting shot or what happened at the church she's talked about something beautiful something living"Lori smiled at him"Theres still a life for us  a place maybe like this"

Lori had started crying at his words it was something I missed I'm sure of it"It isn't all death out there"At some point I started crying i didn't know when but it was silent tears"It can't be we just have to be strong enough after everything we've seen to still believe that why is it better for Avery to live even in this world"

I looked up at them Counfusd"She talked about the deer Lori he talked about the deer"I smiled and looked down at her she was so brave and colorful its why I liked her it's why out of all the people in our group she's my favorite
