A few days later...

you'd just returned to the Dawn Winery Manor after going out to shop In the city, you went to look for things to bring back for Lady Furina and Neuvillette, also something for Sedene that she'd enjoy and The Market District did have many things for gifts or souvenirs. So Far your time had been wonderful and you met lots of people like Diluc's adoptive brother Kaeya who was the silver tongued Calvary Captain, he was very charming and Diluc warned you about him a bit but you thought he was good company to be around despite his very forward flirting advances. You also met Jean's younger sister Barbara who was the deaconess to the Cathedral, she did give you an look inside the Favonius Cathedral In which you thought It was beautiful inside and the hymns that were sung felt very soothing to the soul, while there Barbara told you quite a lot about the Anemo Archon Barbatos who'd long left Mondstadt to his people's freedom

"Barbatos sounds like a very kind Archon...leaving the city to the people, giving them their freedom it's very selfless"

Diluc nodded, "Indeed, Mondstadt is very blessed by his graces"

just then your stomach started to growl, In which you blushed In embarrassment "Pardon me"

Diluc smiled, "I guess It's that time of day, I'm sure dinner's almost ready"

you smiled, "her cooking is so delicious I've really enjoyed it so much"

just then Adelinde came to the sitting room, "I'm so happy you like It, I've prepared something extra special for tonight and It's ready"

you and Diluc then went to the dining table, you sat down as he took his spot at the head of the table as Adelinde went to go bring out what she'd prepared for dinner this evening. and soon she brought out a little delicious spread of pork roast, braised cabbage and a stew with meat and vegetables that even had some dough like dumplings In which It's aroma filled the air 

you smiled, "Oh my, Adelinde it looks amazing!"

she smiled, "Thank you Miss (Y/n), I haven't made these In a while so I thought to try It out again"

Diluc looked at the spread, "You really outdid yourself Adelinde It looks delicious"

"Thank you Master, I hope you both enjoy"

Diluc unfolded his cloth napkin to tuck Into his shirt but then, there came a knocking at the door In which he let out a sigh "Really...at this hour? Adelinde the door if you would"

she inclined her head before she went to go answer the door, "Oh my goodness"

Diluc turned In surprise and stood up as he went to go see what was going on, just as you looked In shock to see Neuvillette standing In the doorway as he exchanges greetings with Diluc 

"Pardon my sudden visit Lord Ragnvindr, I just arrived not too long ago In Mondstadt"

Diluc shook his head, "Not at all Monsieur Ludex, please come In"

you quickly stood up from your chair, "Lettie"

Neuvillette then turned his attention to you as you stood, a smile started to spread on your face as you quickly made your way over to greet him In which he rushed forward to you 

"(Y/n)"

he opened his arms and you went into them as you embraced each other, after being away for so many days being in his arms was all you could ever want or wish for right now

you rested your head against his chest, before looking up at him "Lettie what...what're you doing here?"

he smiled, "I'm here because I wanted to come, Furina also allowed me leave"

you smiled, "Really? she's so kind"

Diluc cleared his throat, "Monsieur Chief Justice Neuvillette, please make yourself at home...Adelinde bring another plate and cutlery"

Neuvillette parted from you first, "Excuse me Lord Ragnvindr, thank you"

Neuvillette then followed you and Diluc as you went back to the dining table, this was his first taste of Mondstadt cuisine In which he enjoyed the stew that Adelinde had made as Diluc asked him few questions about Fontaine's trading nowadays in which he wanted to do business.

After dinner Diluc excused himself as he had something to attend to, In which you and Neuvillette decided to go for a stroll together around the Wineries grounds 

"I never would've thought you'd come Lettie, It was a surprise"

Neuvillette smiled, "Indeed, but I hope It was a pleasant one"

you giggled, "Of course"

"Have you been enjoying yourself here?" he asked

you smiled, "Yes It's been wonderful, It's just like I imagined It would be...everyone's so kind and Mondstadt just feels how should I put It? like I'm welcomed by family"

Neuvillette smiled warmly, "That's good to hear"

"But...."

you stopped walking as a blush came to your cheeks, "I've been wondering and worried about you"

"As have I," he confessed

Neuvillette held out his hand to you with you taking It, "But I didn't just come to see how you're doing...there's another urgent reason I came"

"Urgent? is something wrong"

his ears became a deep pink but It was too dark outside for you to see, but then as the clouds glided across the sky to uncover the moon it's light shone down. Neuvillette looked down at your hands, he laced his fingers with yours In which the motion made your heartbeat quicken as you looked into his eyes that were beautiful just like the moon itself 

"Neuvillette...."

he looked you in the eye, "I don't know how to best tell you this...but I'll try, (Y/n) I am...I've fallen In love with you"

"What did you say?"

Neuvillette brought your hand up to his lips, "I love you"

you felt as though your heart would leap out of your chest, but you were soon overcome with joy

your eyes shined, "Lettie I...I think I do too"

Neuvillette brought your hands into his own, he then pressed a kiss to them both before he stepped forward to kiss you on the forehead. The Chief Justice was so overcome with happiness he thought he might burst but he'd been worried you wouldn't feel the same way he did 

"I'm so happy (Y/n), but I'd like to know when did you start to feel this way?" he asked

you smiled warmly, "I believe It was after you'd saved me on that one night, but to be honest...It was much earlier than that after I got to know you and see how truly wonderful you are"

Neuvillette caressed your cheek, "I think you're wonderful too my dear"

you melted underneath his gentle touch just as he started leaning towards you, In return you tilted your head to look up at him as your lips soon came together In a kiss. Neuvillette brought an arm around your waist as he started to kiss you more deeply to truly convey his feelings

but soon parted as he brought you close against him, and you hugged him as you rested your head against his chest all the while he brought his hand to rest atop of your head

 "To be Honest one such as myself never knew what love is, but after many years In Fontaine I still wasn't able to grasp It until...I met you"

Neuvillette guided you to look at him, "You opened up my eyes more than they've been In years and words...they aren't enough to say how much I love you"

"Would you...be with me? I want you by my side always" he said

you smiled warmly, "Of course"

Neuvillette smiled lovingly as he felt a tear gather In his eye, you soon kissed again tenderly just as the wind blew through your hair as if a thousand of caresses but It couldn't compare to this feeling right now.
