The Rainy Day Chap.9

A few days later...

After the Masquerade ball Neuvillette was informed by Furina that you'd passed her test, with flying colors even which meant you had proven your worth as well as your place which left you relieved. Neuvillette was pleased as well but even if you hadn't passed Furina's test he wasn't going to leave you to the streets, so you continued to go about your days and work like usual as you were by Neuvillette's side but one day there'd been an Important court case which needed his attention. he didn't bring you with him to court on that day as It might be too much for you but he did say that It was concerning a murder which you were surprised about, so you did as told and stayed at Palais Mermonia where you had been visited by Navia who wanted to catch up over tea so you did, but while you were enjoying some tea you felt something was off 

your eyes strayed to the window and outside to where the skies had turned grey, they were blue not too long ago but now filled with dark clouds and soon you saw It start to rain 

"(Y/n)? (Y/n)"

you turned, "Oh, Sorry Miss Navia"

she furrowed her brows, "Are you feeling alright? you seem...lost somehow"

"Oh nothing of the sort, I'm fine" you said

Navia nodded, "Okay, but if you ever get bored of working for Monsieur Neuvillette please know that Spina De Rosula would be delighted to have you on the team"

you smiled, "Thank you Miss Navia but...enjoy working for him very much, also I don't think I'd prove very useful In investigation"

"Oh? I see, you know I don't think I've seen Monsieur Neuvillette take to someone so much...he's so aloof with people and doesn't express his emotions that well at all"

you were surprised, "Really, I know about that last part but aloof?"

Navia smiled, "Mhm"

you thought, "he doesn't talk to many indeed other than me and the Melusines or Lady Furina but...if he's aloof with other people what made him...?"

you blushed a little but then your attention went back outside, looking out the window as you felt something you didn't know what but you started to worry about Neuvillette. you knew he was of course able to defend himself but you were worried about something else

"(Y/n)? there you go again, what's wrong?" asked Navia

you put down your teacup, "I...I'm worried about Monsieur Neuvillette, I don't know why but there's something...pulling at my heart right now"

Navia was surprised,  "Hm?"

she then smirked a little, "Oh I believe I understand...(Y/n) do you like Monsieur Neuvillette?"

"What do you mean"

Navia smiled, "you know that Like Like, romantic kind of liking towards someone"

you were taken aback, "No, but I do Like and admire him quite a bit...not just as the Chief Justice but as a person"

"Oh I'm sorry for presuming then"

you smiled, "It's alright honestly...It hasn't been that long since I started working for him, but I like and enjoy being by his side"

Navia picked up another macaron, "that's a nice thing though, It usually takes longer to get used to a change like that"

just then Melus came over and whispered something to Navia, "Thank you, alright"

"(Y/n) It was nice to chat and catch up with you again, but I have to get going now...there's something urgent" 

you nodded, "I understand, thank you for the visit Miss Navia"

Navia stood up and waved, "Then have a good day, by the way that hat I last ordered was just what I wanted"

"that's great! I'm happy to hear It" you said

you waved to Navia as she and her guys left, you then decided to go do some tidying up for when Neuvillette returned home later.
