Two Months later....

In all his years of being on earth Neuvillette never thought he'd become so fond of someone especially a human but It happened and he'd gained a friendship, he didn't expect you to want to be friends but he was very happy that you reciprocated that feeling he shared. Furina was surprised when she got to hear It and was even a little bit jealous that he'd become your friend before she did but she kept quiet, after your outing with Neuvillette It seemed the both of you had become even more close with him often even asking your opinion on things, even In matters within the Opera Epiclese during a trail which was an honor that most didn't get to have. And after every long day he looked forward to you bringing him some Pate De Fruit to snack on for a break, you continued to do your work as his aid diligently but also things changed quite a lot since you were friends with Neuvillette now, so you spoke more freely In his presence and even just called him by his name once but then you stopped yourself as you thought It was rude. but Neuvillette laughed and told you that It wasn't rude at all also saying you could call him that 

"Alright then...Neuvillette"

you turned away as your cheeks became pink, "I'm sorry...I know we've been friends for a while but It still seems too bold"

"I know and I understand, you don't have to right away I don't want to make you uncomfortable...It's just that friends are casual with each other"

you smiled to yourself, "you're so very right"

you soon arrived at Hotel Debord, you and Neuvillette had been invited to have a meal with Wriothesley as they were to talk business but also the serious and Mysterious Warden wished to get to know you more. he'd become Interested In you with the thought of courtship

upon coming up to the building you were greeted by Leone, "Welcome! Monsieur Neuvillette, Miss (Y/n), The duke is already Inside waiting for you"

"Very good, thank you" said Neuvillette 

she opened the door for you both with you going inside, soon being shown to the restaraunt within the Hotel where you saw Wriothesley who soon stood up to come greet you

"Hello, Welcome"

you smiled and curtsied, "Your Grace,"

Wriothesley brought you up from It, as he took your hand "It's nice seeing you again Miss (Y/n)"

"Thank you"

he kissed the top of your hand, before he shook hands with Neuvillette and told you both to have a seat as he already went ahead ordering the food "I hope you don't mind"

Neuvillette closed his eyes, "I'm not picky so It is alright"

"Same goes for me, I really hope I won't be In the way your grace" 

Wriothesley shook his head, "Not at all Madam"

he folded his arms as his muscles flexed or clenched, "Let's get down to business It's about the Harbinger who disappeared, there's no hide of hair of him In the Fortress anymore"

Neuvillette started, "I see, thank you for telling me, I shall leave this to you"

Wriothesley sighed, "As you say then Monsieur Chief Justice"

just then the food arrived, In which he thanked the waitress as you looked to the spread of food before you, Fish and chips, Foie Gras, Fontaine Aspic, onion soup and Lasagna

you gave thanks to the Hydro Archon before you started to eat, you decided on the fish and chips as It had been a while since you'd last eaten that as it was something you grew up with

"Fill free to eat as much as you'd like" said Wriothesley

Neuvillette looked to see the delight fill your face from the food, It made his heart warm and his lips curved a bit which Wriothesley noticed but he started to eat his Lasagna 

Neuvillette ate a forkful of his Aspic, "Might I ask how is miss Sigewinnie"

"she's getting along fine, keeps trying to make me stop drinking coffee though...she's way too young to be lecturing me on my own health"

you picked up another chip, "who's Sigewinnie?"

Neuvillette started, "She works as a nurse within the Fortress of Meropide"

you dipped your piece of fish into the sauce as you continued eating, just as you picked up the cloth napkin to wipe your mouth. just as Wriothesley cleared his throat

"There's something I want to ask you Miss (Y/n)"

you gave him your attention, "Your Grace?"

"I have to say that you've made an Impact on me since I first met you, excuse me if this sounds pretentous but...would you allow me to court you?"

you were taken aback and Neuvillette too didn't know what to say, he knew the customs of courtship of course as he'd seen many lovers together In his lifetime

you were very shocked, "I...well I don't know what to say your grace"

just as you thought about possibly considering that, It hit you that you'd be away from Palais Mermonia more often and not able to see Neuvillette like usual so you thought harder

you took in a breath, "Your Grace, I'm very flattered truly I am...but I cannot accept this, I hope you will forgive me"

Wriothesley nodded, "I guessed as much but It was still worth a try, Alright but can I ask why"

you felt your chest warm, "I...Well, I wouldn't be able to see my friend as much and I have much work to do at the Palais"

Neuvillette's eyes widened, his ears then became very red as he looked away from you which the duke didn't fail to notice as he already knew what was happening, he'd bow out now.
