Kirby Run Part one and Two

Part One Chapter Twelve

Thrown back a little by Dedede's strike, Schwarzwälder growled and charged at the king. Dedede jumped up to avoid the attack and attempted one more ground pound, but the Choco Werehound Brute avoided that one as well.

"Uh oh, should we help him out?" asked Knight Cookie, who was observing the fight alongside Kirby and the others.

"No, Great King Dedede has faced worse opponents before, I know he'll be able to triumph over this!" Bandana Dee responded before calling out to Dedede "You hear that Great King? You can do this! I know you can!"

"Yeah! We've faced Choco Werehound Brute plenty of times!" GingerBrave called out as well "If we can beat him, you can win for sure!"

"Don't give up Dedede!" Kirby cheered "Go get him!"

The team continued to cheer for Dedede, and while he couldn't respond since he was still in the middle of fighting Schwarzwälder, he appreciated his allies' support.

The two kept swinging their hammers at each other, each hit getting blocked or parried one after another. Eventually Schwarzwälder managed to throw Dedede off balance by just a bit, allowing him to knock the king's hammer out of his hand before sending him stumbling backwards. The king's allies gasping as he fell to the ground.

Dedede wasn't done yet though, he could still get back up and finish this fight.

However, as Dedede got back up and picked up his hammer, Schwarzwälder let out a fierce howl and charged at him with his hammer ready to slam down onto him.

Acting fast, Dedede was able to catch the hit with his own hammer just in time and now the two hammers were colliding as the two combatants were desperately trying to push each other back.

Schwarzwälder gritted his teeth and used all his strength to push Dedede back by just a bit, looking like he was going to gain the upper hand.

Dedede would not give up however, as he remembered why he was doing this.

Not just for his friends and allies who were still cheering for him, not just for his pride and honor.

But for the Waddle Dees he had to protect and save.

He had to do it for them.

He knew he could do it.

For the Waddle Dees!

With that motivation, Dedede let out a mighty roar and gathered all his strength for one final push, and managed to push back Schwarzwälder and knock the hammer out of his hands.

Stunned, Schwarzwälder couldn't react in time before Dedede slammed his hammer onto his head with great force, knocking him out as his head hit the ground. A cloud of dirt erupting from the ground and Schwarzwälder landed with a thud.

Dedede panted heavily after landing the finishing strike, before lifting his hammer off the unconscious brute's head and taking a deep breath.

Licorice Cookie- finally managing to regain his strength- got up and stared wide eyed at what just happened. "AHH! No!!! Schwarzwälder!!!"

Carrying Bat-Cat, Licorice Cookie ran up to the Choco Werehound Brute's side and tried to shake him awake, but to no avail.

Dedede stomped his foot in front of Licorice Cookie, Kirby and the others close by looking ready to fight some more.

Licorice Cookie scowled at the team. (Grrr! How dare they!) he thought (No matter, even if we didn't win, we still technically succeeded in our mission in finding and catching a Dark Matter! So for now we'll just make a tactical retreat!)

"This isn't over GingerBrave!" he declared as he held up his scythe and cast a bolt of black lightning that caused a smokescreen to appear.

The team coughed and attempted to shake off the smoke. When it faded, Licorice Cookie, Bat-Cat, and Schwarzwälder were gone, likely having been teleported away via an escape spell.

"You always say that!" GingerBrave tried to call out, even though Licorice Cookie likely wouldn't hear him.

Kirby jumped for joy. "We did it! We won!"

Bandana Dee jumped along too. "We showed them alright!"

"You know what this calls for!" Kirby smiled, holding out his hand "Hey, GingerBrave! Wanna join our victory dance?"

GingerBrave smiled widely. "Gladly! How do you do it?"

"Follow my lead!" Kirby instructed as he and Bandana Dee began their signature victory dance, GingerBrave following along and dancing as well.

Halfway through, Dedede managed to regain his breath fully and joined in too. When the dance was finished, all four of them did an epic or cute pose.

Princess Cookie and Knight Cookie clapped once the dance was done.

"Woo! Nice!" Princess Cookie cheered, then walked up to Dedede "You did an awesome job! Fighting Schwarzwälder all by yourself! Not many Cookies can do that!"

"You are indeed a very mighty and strong king!" Knight Cookie agreed.

Dedede had the biggest smile on his face. "Heh heh, anything for my Waddle Dees! Speaking of which..."

Dedede walked up to the three unconscious Waddle Dees and tried to shake them awake.

"Hey, you three okay? Those baddies are gone now!"

"Wah..." went the smallest Waddle Dee, slowly getting up, their two companions getting up as well.

"Wanya, we're fine Great King- (*GASP!*) GREAT KING!!!"

All three of the Waddle Dees jumped up and gave King Dedede the biggest hug ever. Dedede laughing happily as he hugged them back.

Kirby and Bandana Dee both smiled, Bandana Dee in particular being super happy seeing his king and fellow Waddle Dees reunited.

"Great King you're okay!!!!" the most orange Waddle Dee cried "We were so worried!!!!"

"Aww, thank you little guys, I'm okay." Dedede patted the Waddle Dees on the back "You alright though? What happened?"

The smallest Waddle Dee rubbed their temples "Mmm, I remember we were trying to find you Great King, but then my memory gets fuzzy... oooh, my head hurts..."

"Ours too." the other two Waddle Dees both said in unison, rubbing their temples as well.

"Hm, looks like that Choco Jerk Hound hit you three in the head too hard." Dedede concluded "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll recall what happened to you after some rest."

"Yeah! Rest is good!" Kirby agreed, walking up to each Waddle Dee to give them a hug and high five, Bandana Dee doing the same- The Waddle Dees being overjoyed to see their blue bandana wearing comrade.

"Indeed, why don't we take you all back to the Cookie Kingdom where you'll all be safe?" Knight Cookie suggested "And no running off this time!"

Dedede laughed, then wiped some sweat from his forehead. "That sounds like a good idea."

With a tough battle won, and their rescue mission complete, the heroes started their trek back to the Cookie Kingdom.
