"Were going on a run." Rick announces to me later on in the day. I raise my eyebrows, asking him a question without speaking. "So?" Rick looks me in the eye and says, "I need you to come. We need the extra hands." I hear Carl come up after that. "Dad, do you want me to keep watch. On the guard tower?" Rick nods and hands Carl his gun. "Remember. Only shoot when you have to." Carl nods and heads out the back door. Rick hands me a bag of guns and tells me to go to the car out the back. When I get out, sun lights up my eyes. Then I see that Carl isn't on the guard tower. He comes up to me and says, "Watch out for my Dad please." I don't respond straight away, but eventually I nod and put the bag on guns in the back. Going on the run is me, Rick, Daryl and a girl called Maggie. We all get in the car after that. I look out the window at the blur of trees and think one thing. On this run, I need to prove myself trustworthy. I need to show Rick my power.
