There are places I'll never traverse again,
Moments I will never enjoy, dancing in the rain.
Streets I'll never choose to walk down,
And sorrows in which I'll for an eternity drown.

There are memories that continue to haunt me,
Carrying tumultuous feelings, like tides at sea.
Some coerce me to turn back the clock,
So I can revel in them, as time mystically stops.

If only controlling time, was an achievable thing,
I would be happily blossoming, like the flowers of spring.
'Cause I would've altered my wrongs, to make them right,
And regret would never catch up to me, in hindsight.

However, these fantasies are just, an illusion of the brain,
In reality we are all, catching up to our train.
The train of amendments to cure our remorse,
So that we can bury the past as we change our course.

there's no greater,
deeper feeling
than regret & remorse.

but it's a sign,
you're still humane.
