Pulling into Lakeview apartments I was over joyed finally I'm on my own and back to my old neighborhood. I've only been gone for 3 years but so much has changed like for starters they re-did the raggedy sign out front and it looked as if the playground had been re-painted a pretty blue color and they added a few new things I mean MFs still wasn't gonna play on it but the gesture was nice. I pulled up to the leasing office to retrieve my keys.

Not too long after I was pulling into my old building, I wanted to check out my place first before I brought anything up. Marching up the steps I swung the door open taking the elevator to the 3rd floor. As nice as the outside looked the inside still looked the same raggedy as fuck.

As soon as the doors opened I could hear a couple arguing. Ghetto I rolled my eyes and continued walking towards my apartment. The closer I got to my door the louder the voices became.

"Maaaann I told you I don't know that girl." I heard a man's voice say

"Then why was she calling your phone last night Chris? Cuz I mean she was blowing you the fuck up!" The girl shouted back

"Ard man look she was trynna talk to the homie bruh he gave her my number in case she can't reach him." He sighed

"Bullsh-" She stopped my sentence when I walked up to my door.

"Kelly?" I heard her say

I whipped my head around.

"Jonica!" I rushed over to her giving her a hug

"What are you doing here? I haven't seen you in years." She questioned

"Oh I live here now I came back to find my mom ever since I moved with my dad I haven't heard from her."

Before she could respond the dude who I assumed was her boyfriend cleared his throat extra loud. I looked at him and then back at her.

"Oh what you need some throat lozenges or something nigga?" She mugged him

"Man we wasn't done talking so you goin let me in or what?" He pleaded

"Nah you straight." She looked him up and down

"Ight imma go but I'm coming back and we goin finish this convo." He demanded before sucking his teeth and walking away

"Who's that?" I asked once he was out of earshot

"Nobody just my tired ass boyfriend. So this ya spot?" She waved me off

"Yeah you wanna come in?" I stuck the key in the door knowing she would agree

"You ain't even gotta ask." We both rushed inside.

It wasn't anything special just a simple 2 bedroom the layout was the same from when I stayed with my mom years ago.

"Where's all your stuff?" She asked

"Downstairs in the U-haul I wanted to come check things out before I brought anything up." I reasoned

"You need help cuz Ya know P is on the second floor now?" She sked taking out her phone

"Please."

"I gotchu." She called P and told him to meet us outside.

"So ya'll moved to the second floor?" I stated the obvious as we rode the elevator.

"Yeah so a little after you left Ace moved out so there wasn't a need for a 3 bedroom. P and I wanted our own place together but of course he wanted all new this so we figured it would be easier moving everything into the second floor versus the 4th." She explained
