Maria's pov—-
"Where are you?" Natasha asked looking behind me, I grabbed the phone and moved it around so she can see more "In my cubical at the office, I had to finish some paperwork so I stayed here a little later than usual" I explained, I saw Natasha nod and in the background, I saw laying on her stomach reading a book "we could just not call today if you'd like" Natasha mumbled her face suddenly seeming gloomy
"Talia, I haven't missed a single call in a year and I don't plan on starting now" I saw Natalia smile slightly "Hey Diana" diana looked up at the phone after hearing her name, and smiled "hey mom" she greeted "hi sweetie, what are you reading?" Diana moved closer to Natasha so now they were both perfectly in the frame, they were both smiling so I took the opportunity to take a screenshot "its called колобок" She showed the book that had a picture of a cartoon donkey "What's it about-" I started before being cut off by "Hill" nick furycalled out to me, I had completely ignored everyone in the office until he came up behind me
"Agent Hill what are-" Nick started before eyeing the phone "Fury these are my girls, Diana and well you know Natasha" I introduced, Natasha and Nick have already met a couple of times he's helping us come up with a plan to get them out of there, I turned back to the phone to see Natasha blushing slightly "hi!" Diana waved "Sir" Natasha greeted with a head nod
"Romanoff, who's that little one" he smiled "This is my daughter" Nick and Natasha talked for a while then he and Diana started talking, and I saw Nick smiling while talking to her, after a few minutes Nick handed the phone back to me "I should get going" Diana waved "bye Nicky" she parted earning a chuckle from Nick "bye mini agent" I smirked at the interaction, did the great Nicholas fury have a soft spot? "hill you should go home soon" he commented before leaving
"He's nice" Diana smiled, before yawning "ima put her to bed" Natasha picked Diana up and grabbed the phone walking towards the bed, after a few minutes she prompted the phone against something and I was able to see them again, Diana was sat on the bed and Natasha was fixing the camera "okay" Natasha mumbled, she went back to Diana and tucked her In "goodnight детка" she whispered kissing Diana's forehead "Talia" I whisper since I saw Diana's eyes close "yes Mia I know the drill" Natasha smiled grabbing the phone and facing it so I can see Diana's sleepy face
"Goodnight little one" I whispered again "Night Mom" she mumbled before falling asleep, Natasha moved the phone back to face her "So Nick huh?" She smirked "You noticed it too, h was a softy" We fell into a comfortable silence "Your girls huh" Natasha teased
A few days later
I was getting ready to go to my apartment but director fury came up to me "Hill I need you to stay over time I need you to fill these papers" he stated placing a pile of papers "Uh okay" I have to do the call whit my girls in an hour and I'm most definitely not finishing these in an hour so I guess I'll have to do it here again
It's been 20 minutes and I'm still not even halfway through the paperwork, while I did the paperwork I noticed that Fury kept walking by me it's been 3 times that he's done that so far
40 minutes later I'm 1/3 into the stack of papers but I stopped working on that since my phone started "Masha hey- your still in the office?" She seemed to be giving Diana a piggyback ride while she set the phone on something "Hey yea I needed to finish some more paperwork" We started talking until I felt someone walk behind me "Nicky!!" Diana squealed looking behind me "Oh hey mini agent" Nick greeted, he and Diana talked for a while until Nick had to go back to his Office
"What was that?" Natasha giggled "I don't know I never thought Fury was a kid guy" We talked for an hour until Natasha put Diana to bed and we hung up, I got back to work "Hey you don't have to do that anymore" Fury dismissed "are you sure?" He nodded "yea go home it's late" he then walked away, that was odd
A few weeks later ——
"Hill I need you to finish these papers for tonight" Fury orders, great this is the third Friday he's done that, I put my stuff back down and got to work, then an hour later my phone rang "Hey Tasha hey pumpkin" I greeted "hey, in the office again?" nat asked "yea he gave me extra
Paperwork again" I explained, we talked for about 30 minutes until Fury came around "Hey is that them?" I nodded
He greeted Natasha then he and Diana started talking, again he has done this every time he kept me over time, Diana seems to like him "So what's new red" Nick asked, diana started explaining what she did throughout the day "Hey fury, Phil is asking for you" agent ward came over, fury said his goodbyes then left with ward, we continued talking and after I hung up the call, I went to talk to fury
"Come in" he shouted from inside his office, I walked in and went up to him "You need to stop making me stay late just so you can talk to diana" I complained "Hey I don't- okay I like the kid I admit it" he sighed a little embarrassed "Diana seems to like you" we talked for a while and came up with an agreement, he will have a weekly call with Diana
