Part One Chapter Three

Start from the beginning

Though the silhouette didn't show any expressions, it definitely had a look of realization at that moment.

Ah, right that's on me. See, my magic is a bit finicky right now, as such I have to preserve a lot of it for more important things. though I am able to talk to you in your mind using it, right now I am unable to use this type of spell's full capabilities and as such I can only project part of my appearance to you.

Kirby didn't seem to fully understand, but he nodded regardless. "Alrighty poyo, I think I've got it. So your magic is on the fritz?"

Sort of, while it doesn't always corporate with me, the issue is more so that I don't currently have enough of it. I was hoping I'd regain some while my staff resided in the glade where you found it, but it looks like it wasn't enough.

"Oh, sorry again." Kirby apologized.

No need to apologize little one. I'm honestly glad someone finally found it. I had been waiting for an... old friend to return for it, and today I had felt the presence of a powerful force, and I had thought it was an her. So I opened up the passageway to where I was hidden, in hopes that it was her. Seems the presence I felt was you instead.

"Ohh, you're waiting for your friend?"

Yes, I am waiting for her to come and free me from the staff. As you may have noticed, I am trapped in here.

"Oh no! Why are you trapped in here?" Kirby asked.

Don't worry, it is not for a bad reason. You see, my poor fragile Cookie body was in a grave state, having sustained many severe injuries including a concussion, I was on the verge of crumbling to bits. In an attempt to save my life, I used my magic to place myself within the crystal on the staff so its magic could heal me. It has worked, my body is almost completely healed, yet I cannot leave on my own unfortunately, a Cookie who I thought was a friend promised to help me, but she had to leave for something and I have been waiting so long for her to return.

The silhouette looked down sadly.

I fear it has been too long though, being in here for so many years having to recover from such terrible injuries, has made me lose parts of my mind, though I suspect the concussion is largely blame. Regardless, my mind has been badly affected, even my more recent memories aren't easy to recall. I cannot even fully remember the name or face of who I was waiting for. And I worry, what could have happened to her? Why hasn't she returned? Did she get lost? Or worse...

Kirby frowned, Spelltwister Cookie sounded so downhearted and saddened. "I'm so sorry that happened to you! Me and my friends are lost too. We got sent to this world by accident, and now we've been separated and worst of all, I don't have my usual method of obtaining powers to try and help them!"

You are from another world you say? That makes sense, you look very different from other Cookies, at least as far as I can recall you do.

"So this is a cookie world?"

You could say that, yes. There's more inhabitants in this world than just Cookies, but they- we are mostly the primary inhabitants. What world are you from?

"I'm from Dreamland!" Kirby started explaining "It's on Popstar! It's got so many types of fun creatures and amazing environments, plus a lot of fun places to go and beautiful lands to explore!"

Kirby had been explaining all this with a smile, but it slowly started to turn into a frown. He hadn't been in this world for long, but he was already feeling homesick. "It's also where I'm normally able to get copy abilities from foes, but I don't think I can do that in this world..."
