~ One month later ~

Soojin's POV 🦋💙

"Jinjin ahh, thank you for cooking lunch for me today! I love youuu~"

Rolling my eyes, I tried not to look at Shuhua who was clinging onto my arm and looking at me with those puppy dog eyes. But one glance was enough to make my heart melt even though I try not to show it.

"Aishh it's no problem. Say, when is it gonna be your turn to cook for me huh?" I replied while trying to pry her arms from me but to no avail.

"Errrr I'll think about it... but I like it more when you cook! You're just so good at cooking honey~" Shuhua said as she tightened her grip around me.

Admitting defeat, I let out a sigh as I continued eating lunch with my free hand. Shuhua has always been clingy, but ever since I got recognized as the 'sexy dancer' after my viral red-haired 'Hot Issue' fancam, she's been EXTRA clingy. Like I actually wonder if she has even developed romantic feelings for me.

But I don't hate it, it's just like a little puppy following you around everywhere. It's cute. I've been trying to act a bit cold and distant to see if she'll lessen her clinginess. However, I think she's fallen for me more. Maybe she likes people who play hard to get...

As I was deep in thought, my phone got a notification. Who could it be? It's supposed to be an off day before our promotions start.

jellyssi: hey soojin! meet me in the dance studio later?
jellyssi: i've got an idea for one of the stage concepts and you'll be the star 🤩

cherry: sure! but what will i be doing?
cherry: and is it just me only?

jellyssi: uhh it's smth like acting you'll find out later hehe
jellyssi: and yes, it's just you only 😉

cherry: 😶 ok... i'll be there in 15 mins

Looking up from my phone, I told Shuhua that I had to leave soon. Shuhua started whining, but after knowing that it was Soyeon who called for me, she reluctantly let me go.

"Be back soon jinjin! I'll miss you!"

"I'm only going to be gone for awhile... go play PUBG or something." I gave her a quick peck on the forehead and she happily ran to her room. Sigh... what am I going to do with her.

~ At the dance studio ~

Nearing the dance studio, I heard faint Latin music coming from inside. As I opened the door, I saw Soyeon dancing along to it.

"Whoa what's all this Soyeon ah? I thought you said it was acting?" I asked.

Hearing my voice, Soyeon was startled and she quickly turned off the music. "Oh you were fast... Anyways I've got something to tell you!" she said as she pulled me down to sit on the floor with her.

"Since our comeback is Latin inspired, I've thought of some stage concepts we could do!" I nodded, encouraging her to go on. "Well I've thought of 4 right now: standing microphones, fans, live brass band, and lastly tango dancing!"

"And where would I be needed? Where's the acting?" Confused, I asked.

Soyeon simply smirked. "Well... I kinda lied. You'll be doing the tango dance! A solo tango intro before our group performance."

What...? I was so confused. I wasn't expecting this at all! "But...but I don't even know tango! I learnt jazz, not tango!"

"Don't worry Soojin ah~ You're the main dancer and your skills are incredible so it won't take long to learn! Besides, you're the only one in the group that can dance so smoothly and sensually! You're literally the perfect fit for the smoky passionate tango," Soyeon gushed.

"Really?" I blushed as I heard her compliments. It is true though, my jazz background has provided me with the unique charm of dancing smoothly and elegantly, something which is uncommon amidst the current strong, energetic girl crush dancers.

Soyeon suddenly stood up and pulled me up on my feet too. "Come on then! I've found some tango videos which we can learn from and get some inspiration for our own choreography!"

After watching several videos, I realized it wasn't as difficult as I expected it to be. Soyeon was right as usual, the passionate dancing style of tango complements my current sensual jazz style, I just need to emphasize certain movements more and put in more energy for some movements.

When I was confident enough to attempt creating the choreography, I realised I needed a partner. "Uhh just a moment Soyeon. It takes two to tango, but I don't have a partner right now to design a choreography with," I explained.

"What do you mean? I'm literally standing right here," Soyeon looked confused as she pointed to herself.

"Oh... I mean, would you be fine with it? We would have to get really close..."

"Yea and? We've literally been besties for years so who better to do it with than me?"

And so we started practicing, with Soyeon as the substitute for the male dancer. I'll admit I was really shy at first, but Soyeon took everything in stride and did her best to create a choreography together with me.

Despite our height difference, Soyeon did well to carry me with her strong core and leg muscles. There were parts where she would have to hold my waist close to her body, and parts where she would have to hold my thigh. I've never had anyone hold me like this before so I'm sure I blushed many times during the practice. I also had to rehearse my facial expressions, so I kept on my seductive gaze throughout the routine. Every time I met eyes with Soyeon, it seemed that she got flustered too but tried her best to hide it.

Now I know why people say the tango feels so passionate and intense. It was truly an experience... to lock eyes with someone gently holding you close to their body while you gaze at them with such fierce passion.

Time flew by as we practiced and eventually realized it was dinner time as Soyeon's stomach started grumbling.

"Oops didn't realize we've been practicing for so long! Let's call it a day then, I think we've done pretty well," Soyeon said as she gently set me back on the ground.

"Yea! I think I'm ready to rehearse with a proper tango dancer now. It was nice dancing with you Soyeon ah... my amazing dance partner," I replied with a wink.

I thought I might've seen her cheeks turn red before she turned her face away.

"Same here... Come on let's go grab some dinner!" Laughing, she held my hand and pulled me along as we left the dance studio, debating on what to eat.

Although the reception of this song wasn't as good as Latata or Hann, fans were still supportive of our new concept. It was also interesting to try out Latin-inspired music and dance this time, and challenge my creative limits which I always enjoyed. Minnie also started writing songs and one of which (Blow Your Mind) is included in the album!

Most importantly, we all had fun performing on stage with the various concepts. My best friend Soojin also shined so much this era! Senorita truly allowed her to show off and reinforce her sensual dance style, and I'll always be so proud of her 💛
