Soyeon's POV 🦁💛

"Please wait a moment, girls. The CEO will be here shortly."

It has been a few days since I've first revealed Latata to my members and after gaining their approval, I've done some final refinements before properly recording it. Now all that's left is to showcase it to the CEO, which is why I'm here in his office yet again. My members are also here with me as they wanted to be my moral support. Although I don't really show it, I'm very grateful for their presence as they sat around me giving me words of encouragement.

"Do you guys really think the CEO will approve my song?" I asked them, still feeling doubtful.

"Why not? It's a really well-written song," Soojin who was sat beside me said as she gently squeezed my hand.

"Yes! If he doesn't approve it, I'll fight him for you unnie!" Shuhua replied from across the table.

Suddenly the door opened and the CEO arrived. We stood up and greeted as usual before I got to the agenda of our meeting.

"Thank you for meeting us Mr CEO. We're here because we wanted to show you our debut song. Since you said the other songwriters couldn't come up with a good song, I've decided to take matters into my own hands and write one myself. Would you like to listen to it?"

"You? Are you sure you are able to write a song good enough for the whole group to debut?" The CEO scoffed.

"I'm not sure... but I've tried. The members said it's good though..." Now I was starting to feel a little disconcerted.

"What would they know about music? You know if you debut with your song and it goes wrong, you would be responsible for everything right, Miss Jeon Soyeon?"

I looked down at my lap, fidgeting with my fingers, unsure of what to say. Of course I knew this would be a huge responsibility, but what else can I do to ensure we get to debut?

All of a sudden, Soojin spoke up beside me. "I'm sure she knows what a big responsibility it is. Still, I think you should listen to the song first before passing any judgement Mr CEO."

"Yes Mr CEO! You might change your mind after hearing her song!" Yuqi piped in.

The CEO was silent for a moment before speaking. "I suppose a listen wouldn't hurt... Play me the song and I'll see how I like it."

Hands shaking, I quickly set up the audio on the speaker and started the music. My members and I held hands under the table in anticipation while we nervously watched the CEO's expression throughout the song. When the music stopped, I held my breath, waiting to see what he would say.

"Well, it seems you've come up with a decent song. But I'm still not convinced it is better than what our songwriters have come up with." Oh... the glimmer of hope inside me snuffed out.

"But to be fair to you, I'll conduct a blind audition with other staff members. Your song will be played anonymously with the songs of our songwriters. The song with the most votes will be your debut song."

The glimmer of hope reignited in me once again. I looked around at the other members who gave me hopeful smiles as well.

~ The next day ~

The CEO has called a bunch of directors, managers and songwriters into a meeting room. Since it was meant to be objective, we couldn't be inside, so all of us stood quietly outside the door to try and hear what's going on inside.

"Ok, I'll be presenting to you all 3 songs meant for the debut of the new group. Listen to them objectively and cast your vote for the best song," we heard.
