Still in shock from the CEO's announcement, I slowly made my way back to the dorm I shared with Soojin and Minnie. When I opened the door, I realised the girls haven't returned from their dinner so I changed out of my clothes and laid on the sofa preparing to watch some anime. But taking a quick glance at my phone, I realised there were unread messages from the girls:

minniemouse: hey girl how did it go?
shushu: yeye what happened? 👀👀
seo.sj: hope it went well! is tteokbokki ok for you?

Hmm should I tell them about the news now or wait until they return?

jsy: hii it went well actually! and yes tteokbokki is fine ❤️
jsy: i'll tell you more when y'all get back but...
jsy: IM GOING TO DEBUT!!!

seo.sj: WHATTT OMG CONGRATSS!! ❤️❤️
minniemouse: WOWW CONGRATS SOYEONIE 🥳🥳
shushu: YAYYY I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT UNNIE!! 😆🥳❤️😭✨

I couldn't help but smile at their responses.

jsy: Hehe thanks guys!! But there's more to it than that!
jsy: Guess you'll have to come back to hear the rest 😉❤️

minniemouse: We'll be right back!!!
seo.sj: Wait for us! 😉

Smiling, I put down my phone and continued watching One Piece while waiting for them to return.

~ 30 minutes later ~

My One Piece episode was ending when I heard frantic knocking on the door. I jumped up and ran to open the door and was greeted by a big hug from my friends.

"Ya we are so happy for you Soyeonie!!"
"You've worked so hard for this you really deserved it!"

"Hahaha thanks... guys... I can't really... breathe right now..." I barely managed to choke out as they hugged me tight. They finally let me go and I saw a pretty box in Soojin's hands.

"What's that Soojin ah?"
"Oh we decided to buy you a little treat to celebrate your happy news!"
Soojin handed me the box and I opened it to see a pretty yellow cake decorated in sunflowers. "Omg it's so pretty! Thanks so much guys! You really didn't have to..." What did I do to deserve such good friends? This really made me determined to debut together with them in the same group. Oh yes, I have to tell them this news too!

"Oh yes! Now I can tell you the rest of the good news as we eat the cake!" I excitedly grabbed their hands and ran over to the dinner table. After everyone sat down, I finally burst out with the news.

"So you know about me debuting right?" Everyone eagerly nodded at me. "Well turns out I'll be in a 5-6 member group and I get to pitch in who gets to debut with me! And I really want all of you to join me!"

Squeals of delight rang out around the dining table. "Wait really???" "We get to debut too?!" "Omg I can't believe this is happening!" Shuhua was jumping around the table in excitement, Soojin looked like she was about to cry and Minnie actually started crying of happiness.

"Hahaha! Calm down guys. It's not confirmed, but the CEO let me recommend people I want to be group members with." I replied with a chuckle. "I really hope he lets all of you join though, I think all of y'all have amazing talents and we could be a power group!"

"Awww Soyeon really thank you so much! It would be so amazing if we can actually debut together!" Minnie tearfully replied. "Why do you think I invited you to duet Smile with me? It was to further convince the higher ups that we work well together!" I added.

But as I recount the CEO's words, he mentioned that the group would have 5-6 members. And counting everyone right now, we only make up 4. "Hmm does anyone else know someone else that can potentially join us? The CEO said I had to recommend at least 5 people." I said.

Everyone pondered silently as they munched on their cake slices. "Hmm... How about Song Yuqi?" Minnie suddenly said.

"Ooh yea Yuqi's fun!" Shuhua added. She told us that she quickly got close with Yuqi after finding out they both speak Mandarin and they play mobile games together often.

That name did sound familiar... "Is that the girl with a really deep and husky voice?" I asked.

"Yea! That's her! Her voice is crazy deep." Minnie replied.

I recalled Yuqi's monthly evaluations in my mind and noted that she was able to sing and dance well. Not to mention, her unique vocal colour would be a valuable addition to our group. I just didn't really approach her due to how extroverted she is and how shy I am. "I don't really know her well personally, but I think Yuqi's voice would be great to add to the group! If y'all know her and also think that she has a good personality, I can get to know her too." I said after some thought.

"Yea Yuqi's really friendly! It would be hard to not become friends with her since she makes friends with everyone." Shuhua laughed.

"Ok great! I'll message her about this and see if she wants to be added to our group chat!" Minnie said, already typing in her phone.

Just a few minutes later, our group chat started to be spammed with messages:

Wow... this already seems a lot more chaotic.

jsy: Hi Yuqi! Welcome to the group! I think you heard from Minnie already but we decided to add you in since my friends know you well and you also sing and dance well 😊 Let's get to know each other better!

The chat went on and I got to know that Yuqi has been a host on China's Keep Running variety show, which is why she already has fans. She's really friendly and cute but maybe a bit too extroverted for me. Well, as long as she doesn't bother me too much I think we'll get along fine. I didn't really chat much after that since I was tired from the monthly evaluation so I went to bed as I saw Shuhua setting up a time to play PUBG with Yuqi. I think we'll get along fine...
