Bowing to the people 'above' you and trampling on the souls of the people 'below' you. Having your mouth shut by those in power. Instilling fear in those who were powerless.
Hierarchy.
Status.
Ranking.
Social order.
They were there when I was born and would still be there when I died. They reduced people's lives to bits and treated them like servants. Same breathing and living humans were differentiated so cruelly.
To be treated the same, egos had to be crushed but oh, egos were powerful beyond imagination.
Mine was powerful, too.
