Animals can be tamed but they could never be domesticated. Rosalice sits on the couch with her legs dangling over an arm whilst her back is pressed against the other half, reading an old book titled Fahrenheit 451 the Mikealson had seemed to have in their bookcase. Listening intently to the conversation being held over the phone, "That is not my chin, Nik. It was much more delicate."

Klaus comments back, "The only delicate thing about you, sister, is your ego."

"Well placed next to the behemoth size of yours, certainly!" Rebekah nips.

Elijah sighs out, "Could we dispense with this fascinating dispute for just a moment and return to the subject of our supposed long-lost sister?" Rosalice flips another page already halfway through the book.

Rebekah in return sighs out her response, "There's not much to discuss, Elijah. She said she was Freya, and then she darted off into the night."

Elijah folds blankets upon blankets, his eyebrows furrowing. "And you believed her?" He gave a disbelief look that Rosalice caught but never dared to say anything to him.

"Well, I met the girl in a mystical loony-bin– she could be anyone telling any lie. But, she did seem... familiar, somehow."

"Then how is she alive?" Klaus growls out, obviously frustrated. "A question, as ridiculous as its possible solutions, given this family's annoying predilection for cheating death..." Klaus then tried provoking Rosalice, feeling the need to, "Even Rosalice applies with her mysterious first glimpse with it."

Rosalice rolls her eyes, flipping another page, "At least I have a dad who loves me."

Klaus opens his mouth but no phrases left as he was left with a little shock but it got Rebekah laughing allowing Rosalice to smirk triumphantly looking past her book to Elijah's expression who's concealing a smile, terribly so.

"Well did you happen to ask, if by some similar miracle, our aunt Dahlia lives as well?" Klaus turns his attention to his younger sister, regaining himself.

Rebekah managing to calm herself, "I barely had a chance to process–"

"Because on the list of obvious questions, it would be nice to know if the woman who placed a curse on the first-borns of this family is still breathing air." Klaus cuts off, glaring at his sister.

Rebekah scoffs, "Well, let me just turn back time and do it again to your liking then!"

"Enough!" Elijah says sharply, trying his best to be quiet as the babies take their nap. "Both of you. If she is who she says, we'll find out soon enough. For now, it remains imperative that no one learns of Hope, the twins' existence. This has been our salvation thus far."

Rosalice flips another page a little more than halfway through the book. "Unless Hayley's husband-to-be starts flapping his gums." Rosalice could hear his smile through the phone. "Perhaps I should take preventative measures and separate him from his head?"

"Jackson will do nothing to jeopardize that wedding," Elijah states, annoyance radiating off of his voice.

"Hayley's getting married?!" Rebekah gasps out. "Well, what in the hell else did I miss?"

[Time Skip]

"You don't have to watch me as if I'm a child," Elijah sighs out to his mate, meeting her eyes.
