A man who lived on the fifth floor in my building always kept his lights on. Everyone in the building could not stop talking about this man who had only moved in recently. Maybe he works all night long, some assumed. He doesn't care about electricity bills, some proclaimed. Maybe he can't sleep due to some sickness, some whispered. Some even assumed him to be dead after a few months passed by.
One day, unable to contain my curiosity, I stepped by and rang the doorbell - and to my utter surprise, the man had it all in his house, except for photographs. After a chat and some coffee together, I learnt that he was lonely and always wondered if someone would come by for a chat. That in itself carried a big lesson.
No matter how lonely, low or desolate you may be, never stop shining. Shine enough for them to assume, gossip and keep thinking. The right ones will come around.
