The Babysitter

Part 4

Mon's POV

Sam; Mon, I can put Sarai to sleep, just wait for me downstairs so we can have a brief conversation before you go to bed.
Mon; Of course, Lady Sam! Good night Sarai, I will see you in the morning!
Sarai; Good Night Mon - she smile and I left the room heading downstairs!

I waited for Sam in the living room. The house was quiet, probably because all the workers were back in their places. I looked around and saw pictures of Sarai and Lady Sam on the big wall. They both looked like royalty, wearing all white. Lady Sam was seating while Sarai was on her lap smiling. The girl really had the most beautiful smile I had seen, it would be great if she could show them more often.

Sam; You like the picture - I jumped out of the couch. I didn't notice her coming down the stairs. She was low-key laughing at my reaction - Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.
Mon; No, it's okay! I didn't notice you coming Lady Sam.
Sam; You can take a seat - she sat right next to me on the couch and I felt my heart skipping again- How was your first day with Sarai? Did she scare you? - she softly smiled while looking into my eyes.
Mon; No, she's a sweetheart. We're friends already! - I will leave the questions her daughter was asking me out of this!
Sam; I'm glad to hear that, I'm sorry if she said anything disturbing. She can be intense for a four years old girl.
Mon; No, she was great. Truly, I like her! - I smiled just to ease her worries a little - You're doing well raising her. She's so mature!
Sam; Thank you! - she smiled - Did Nita go over everything and showed around the house? If not I can do that...
Mon; She did! It's a huge home so it will take me a while to get used to it but I will be okay. Besides I have Sarai and Ms. Mai to help me if I get lost!
Sam; Your resume looks great by the way. I'm surprised you applied for a babysitting position but I'm also glad you did. It seems that Sarai really likes you already and that means a lot - I blushed! First of all, I thought they said she was heartless and cold. Why has she been smiling and complimenting me since I saw her?
Mon; Thank you Lady Sam! - secondly she hasn't taken her eyes off me. It's making me nervous and I don't know why.
Sam; I would love to get to know you better - I gasped and she noticed - I mean... s.since you are watching after my daughter. I think it's important to know who is taking care of my daughter!
Mon; Uh... Yes, sure! That makes sense! - she smiled. She needs to stop doing that, for some reason, her presence is making me have these weird feelings in my stomach, and her smiling like that at me makes it ten times worst!
Sam; Great! Do you want to drink or eat anything?
Mon; No, I'm okay lady Sam! I already had dinner with Sarai earlier. I'm full!
Sam; Oh, I see. Great! Feel free to tell Mai to make you anything you want. I want you to feel comfortable here... Since you are taking care of my daughter and stuff! - she smiled nervously and stood up - I will be going back to my room!
Mon; Thank you Again, Lady Sam - I stood up - Have a great night! - she nodded her head and walked towards the stairs.

When she was completely out of my sight, I sat back on the couch patting my chest. There are a lot of emotions going on right now that I don't quite understand, so I need to take it easy!

I woke up with the sound of my alarm going off at six in the morning. I quickly got up and headed to the bathroom for a quick shower! Sarai would be up soon, so I need to be quick.
My first night here wasn't that bad, it was great actually. The bed was so comfortable that if I could I would've stayed all day in there, sleeping!
I put on a simple dress and headed to the kitchen for a quick breakfast. Ms. Mai was already up preparing breakfast and getting ready for the day!

Mon; Good morning, Miss Mai!
Mai; Mon, I told you to just call me Mai! - she gave me a quick glare and smile afterward.
Mon; I'm sorry, I forgot.
Mai; What do you want to eat? I will prepare something quickly!
Mon; I will just eat some toast, don't worry Mai.
Mai; That's not enough Mon - she looked at me not satisfied with my choice of breakfast- I have prepared some eggs, and eat some fruit as well!
Mon; You're so sweet! - I smiled!
Mai; Let's eat now before Miss Sarai wakes up and gets you busy - I nodded and Sat on the counter ready to eat her delicious breakfast!

At exactly seven I headed towards Sarai's room. I slowly opened the door and I was surprised to see Lady Sam there, seating on the bed and caressing her daughter's hair while they talked. When I had the interview Nita mentioned that Lady Sam would be gone throughout the day because of work, so I was not expecting her to be here, still in her Pjs by the way! She was looking beautiful in her long silk robe, and her hair was in a messy bun. She looked stunning, even without makeup and fancy clothes. Sarai looked like she had just woken up, she was sweetly looking at her mom; you could see they both had a strong bond, and Sarai was very protective of her mother!
She was the first to notice me at the door and gave me a big smile.

Sarai; Mon, come in - That made Lady Sam turn her head towards me and give me a big smile. Okay, she needs to stop that. Not that I don't like it it's just... I don't know!
Mon; Good Morning Lady Sam, good Morning Sarai - I smiled and entered the room!
Sam; Good Morning Mon, you look beautiful... I mean, that dress looks beautiful on you - she was nervous, I could tell. But why?
Mon; Thank you, Lady Sam!
Sam; Please, just Sam! -
Mon; uh... I can try that - I let out a soft laugh and she did the same not breaking our eye contact!
Sarai; I'm here - she called out and we both turned to look at her. She looked annoyed!
Sam; She loves when I give her attention - she whispered to me and I let out a giggle.
Sarai; I heard that, Mama! - she crossed her arms while pouting.
Mon; Are you ready to start the day, Sarai?
Sarai; Yes, I am! Mama, will you be here all day today? - she stared at Sam waiting for an answer
Sam; Yes, I'm off today! - she smiled at her daughter and then looked at me. Like she's trying to tell me something that I don't quite get yet.  Okay somebody help me here because this woman is low-key making me delulu!
Sarai; Yay, can we have breakfast together then?
Sam; sure sweetie, Mon! - she looked at me again- would you like to join us?
Mon; I already had something to eat!
Sarai; You can just talk to us, Mon. Right, Mama?
Sam; sure, I would love that - she smirked and turned to pick up her daughter. - Come, Mon.
And just like that, she gave me her hand to hold. I was confused and surprised at her random gesture that it took me a while to actually hold her hand. Sarai looked at her mom confused, and I hoped it wouldn't get into the little gifted mind of hers.
But let's get back to the fact that THE lady Sam is holding my hand while we walk to the kitchen.
This is my second day here and Lady Sam is holding my hand! I am more confused than ever!
Sarai; Why are you holding Mon's hand, Mama - she was just as confused as I was!
Sam; just because... I want to!
