I am more than just a smile.
I am more than just that girl
who is willing to let you borrow a pencil.I am more than just the quiet one,
sitting at the edge of the classroom,
Taking notes
and giving unsolicited opinions.I am more than this awkward,
Forgettable shell of a person
that everyone sees.I am dying inside,
longing to come out of this cocoon,
Yet finding the layers seamless,
and finding my strength too weak
To break through.I am suffocating in this darkness,
this vacuum of isolation,
Yet I can't seem to find the voice
to scream for help.It is my own fault
That this is the person you see-
The girl who is kind one minute
and, not knowing what else to say,
Brushes you off the next.The solution is simple;
I just need to break that girl,
tear her apart,
Until all that's left
is the person
She's always wanted to be.
