What if I told you
everything I've been dying to say?
Every hateful comment,
every snide remark
That ran through my head?
What If I told you the truth,
what I really think about the situation,
and what I really hope will happen?
What if I told you of my dreams,
my aspirations,
what actually kindles the light
inside my heart?
Would you laugh?
Cry?
Would you scream at me?
Or would you stay silent?
The bitter seed that has grown in my heart
would finally break through
the barrier of my mind,
exposing itself
To the truth and the light.
Friendship never lasts
when one keeps secrets,
Letting them fester like wounds
that cut deep into the heart
and constrict the soul.
How can one have friendship
when your words
mean so much,
yet slice so deep,
That you bleed me dry?
