Your knowing smile permeates my soul
Your ever-present patience never fades
And even when I stumble through mistakes
You take my hand in yours and lead the wayI'm still a bird with her wings clipped and tied
The rusted bars of darkness where I hide
Are nothing when you help me see the light.
You nudge my broken wings and help me flyA world of possibilities awakes
Though all of my regrets are on display,
You only look at who I am today
And lead me past the darkness and decayThe spiders of the past may weave their webs
When haunting me, they're never truly dead
But as you whisper thoughts into my head
The cobwebs clear and I can see again.
