"Shockwave? He's alive?" I exclaimed, quickly standing up. Ratchet then turned to me with a curious look at my behavior and nodded. I let out a sigh of relief, leaning against the nearby wall for support. "Thank the Beast Lord." I said in a hushed voice. I then drew my spear and used it to prop myself up, the Autobots stiffening in defense.
"What does the message say?" Optimus asked, looking over to me with a curious gaze.
"Release the Eldarth. He is under my care, and it would be logical for you to return him to me. Meet me where you destroyed my lab so I may retrieve him." Ratchet said. "What is an Eldarth?"
"An Elder Predacon." I explained with a small smile. "It is an honor to have survived so long to be considered one not just by Predaking, but by Shockwave."
"Wait, wait, just exactly how old are you?" Smokescreen asked.
"Older than everyone here, far... far older. I am the last of the original Predacons." I said with a sad look
"There are bots older than Ratchet?" The young girl asked. Ratchet gave her an annoyed huff, and I just chuckled.
"Compared to me, Ratchet is no more than a youngling." I said with a look of amusement. "He still has much to learn, along with all of you." I then turned my gaze to the Prime with a tired and knowing gaze. "But... I need to return to Shockwave. I fear that without my treatments, I will not survive long enough to join the Lord of Beasts in the Eternal Hunting Grounds. I... I can not perish here, I need to fall back on Cybertron."
"Then we will comply with Shockwave's request Eldarth." Optimus said.
"Sir, is that such a wise idea?" Ultra Magnus asked suspiciously. "He's clearly dangerous when he's not... like this."
"You misunderstand Eldarth behavior then." I said. "I was acting in defense, and I showed mercy to your Prime by not causing lethal damage. The same goes with every one of you that I have faced."
"It's true, when Smokescreen and I first encountered him, he was giving us combat tips." Bumblebee chirped.
"It is customary for an elder to do so with a youth." I said, a wave of fatigue hitting me and forcing me to lean against the wall. Ratchet ran a scan over me and gave the others a worried look.
"We have to move quickly. Eldarth is going into system failure." Optimus nodded and helped me become stable. He and Ultra Magnus went through the open ground bridge with me and emerged on the other side outside of the destroyed lab. There to greet them was Shockwave and Megatron along with several vehicons. I noticed Shockwave's audials flicking back at the sight of my condition. I slowly made my way to him, my frame collapsing to a kneel.
"Y/D, I need you to stay still for a moment." Shockwave said. I nodded in response, Megatron gesturing for the vehicons to shield Shockwave and I from the two Autobots.
"I suggest you leave. Now." Megatron growled. "You've done enough damage for one day." The two Autobots then left without another word, Shockwave pulling out a small dose of my treatment.
"Y/D, this will stabalize you enough to bring you back to the Nemesis. Please, hold still." I felt the jab of the injection peirce my armor, and I let out a sigh of relief as it ran through my systems. I pressed my forehelm against his broad chassis and hummed contently. The vehicons then assisted in helping me to my pedes, and the group of us returned to the Nemesis.
As soon as I exited the groundbridge, I saw Predaking looking over with wide optics.
"Eldarth!" He exclaimed in the Old Tongue, rushing over and taking me from the vehicons.
"Predaking, I... I failed to protect our kin." I said with shame.
"They will pay for what they did." Predaking growled.
"No, no, we will not act in vengeance. The Autobots need to be brought to justice. But... for now I need to rest." Predaking nodded and assisted me back to the lab that was on the Nemesis as Shockwave and Megatron followed. Predaking then laid me down on the berth I had set up in there. The soft material was a welcomed sensation against my weakened frame
"Predaking, Y/D, what happened to your kin was a tragedy." Megatron said, something off in his tone that I could not figure out. "I assure you both that the Autobots shall pay for what they have done."
"I want justice. Not vengence." I said, Megatron giving me a strange look.
"Of course Y/D, and justice will be served." Megatron said, that same odd tone in his voice. I shrugged it off and watched as Megatron left, Predaking following suite.
"Y/D, what you did was illogical, irresponsible, and idiotic." Shockwave said. "Why would you risk yourself for the Predacon clones?"
"It wasn't just the clones I was defending. I was also defending you." I said, looking up at him. "When I thought you went offline in the explosion, I felt like I failed you and dishonored the promise I made." Shockwave pulled up a chair and sat near my berth, his gentle servo resting on my shoulder in a comforting way.
"Illogical reasoning, but understandable. I... was worried when I saw you didn't return to the Nemesis." My audials perked up at him in response. "I have grown to... enjoy your company, as illogical as it is. I... care about you." I gave him a warm smile and soft optics in response, my wings twitching slightly.
"I am... glad that my company is enjoyable for you." I said, a slight tint of blue on my face. I then regained my composure and curled up tighter on the berth.
"Are you cold?" Shockwave asked, I swore I heard actual concern through his usual monotone voice.
"A little." I said. Shockwave then got up and went over to the storage closet, pulling out a massive fluffy gray blanket and draping it over me. "Thank you." I whispered.
"Rest Y/D. I shall awaken you when I have a new dose of treatment for you."
