- So where are you from? Ask Rebecca as we exit the classroom.

- From the capital, Paris.

- Near the Eiffel Tower? Ask Silver.

I laugh, I don't think they know where exactly the Eiffel Tower is.

- No, I'm at the opposite: near the place of the nation.

From the look on their face, I know for sure their French friends never told them about this place. I try to explain to them but it's easier to show them on a map. After taking a look at the photo, Silver seems surprised.

- You said this place is named the place of the nation?

- Yeah, "place de la nation" in French.

He asked me to write the name on his phone. Weird. After walking a little we reached another classroom. I thought we were going to eat? Rebecca grabs a student to push him out of her vision and pass her head inside the room. She takes some time to look but finally calls:

- Liam! Get your butt here!

Not even two seconds later, my first friend appeared. He greets us with his shiny smile and we walk to the cafeteria. They explain to me how it works, we grab food and join the rest of their group who's already sitting at a table. They look older than us. Two men and a girl - the brown-haired one I saw this morning.

- Oh, this is the boy from this morning, says the one with bleu air.

- Guys, I present to you, Carl Leroy! says Liam, pointing at me with his hand.

I wave at them to greet them.

- Nice to meet you, Carl, I'm Lucie Robert

She looks at the person who's sitting next to her but he's on his phone. She gives him a little tap:

- One second, he says.

- Alright, I'm Max Austin, says the one who seems to be the oldest.

I smile and everyone looks back at the one who didn't present himself. He reads a message, answer, sigh, and finally look up at us. He smiles before looking at me.

- Sorry for this, I'm James Miller, nice to meet you, Carl.

- Miller? Isn't this the same last name as your friend ...uh ... Marie? Is that right?

Liam nods but before he could say anything, James says:

- She's my little sister, that's why.

That makes sense. As we eat, we talk about the school and the town. I can tell they are really close to each other. Except for Lucie, they are all swimmers in the same club, and their coach seems cool. I'm not a swimmer but I would like to meet him too. After this, I talk with James about France and now I understand who are the "French friends": it's Marie and him. Talking about her, I realized that they don't seem to have much memory with her. It's like she appeared in their life only one year ago. I say that because Max, Rebecca, and James are childhood friends, they have a lot of memory together but with Marie it's different: it's only recent memory.

After eating, we just wander outside the school but it starts raining so we get to school and watch the rain from there.

- "Marie" is gonna be happy: it's raining, says Silver.

- I hate the rain, sigh Lucie. For once we had a beautiful sun!

We laugh because she was right, there was a beautiful sun but the rain came out of nowhere and hid it. I look at Silver who's taking a picture of the rain. He sends it and smiles at the answer. I think I know who he sends it to: Marie. With every piece of information I got since this morning, I can tell who knows the last person the most. It's not, her brother, James it's Silver. But then again, the impression is still here: I feel like she wasn't here for a long time.
