The movie theatre was packed, and you felt lucky to make it here when you did. "It's opening night" illumi confirmed, standing in line beside you

"Must be a good movie." it was the beginning of September, so the Halloween movies were rolling in. Illumi thought this one looked the scariest, for you at least.

He bought your ticket, and whatever you wanted to snack on. you got skittles, popcorn, pretzel bites, and Fruitopia to drink. you didn't eat dinner, and illumi didn't judge you for getting so much.

illumi himself only got a small popcorn with a large iced tea.

you and Ilu sat near the back, in the middle of the row. you made small talk during the 15-minute previews. most of it was about the movie itself which was based on a true story.

the lights began to dim, indicating the movie was about to start. you swallowed your last pretzel bite, and washed it down with the fruitopia, preparing yourself for the horrors you were about to see

halfway through the movie, you experience the biggest jumpscare of your life. the whole crowd practically screamed. It brought you comfort to know you weren't the only one who got scared

illumi lightly laughed at your reaction, not being scared himself one bit. you wondered what it would take for him to scream like a little girl, and added it to your list of things you wanted to accomplish in your lifetime. I'd kill to make him scream and practically pee his pants from fright one day

illumi didn't try to make any flirtatious moves on you during the movie, which you appreciated. in your hometown, that's what all the boys would've tried to do. besides, ilu was far too interested in the movie and that iced tea of his.

Right now, he was so calm and collected. You wished to see this side of him all of the time.

Now that you thought about it, you've never actually seen illumi kill someone for his job. You wondered what lengths he had to go to if he had to kill innocent people. Did he target all ages or just adults? What was the rest of his family like? You had so many questions about him now that you truly put thought into it.

Did hisoka know about this side of him too? How well did they know each other and for how long?

Your focus was torn away from the movie, as you daydreamed about your questions

Maybe depending on the job, you wouldn't mind doing another mission with him once in a while.

when the movie was over, you needed a moment to process everything and hold down some puke. Perhaps eating a lot of snacks during this movie was a bad idea.

illumi guided you out of the theatre with the rest of the crowd. "what did you think?" he asked

You threw out some trash and ate the rest of your skittles on the way out

"it.. it was something" you replied looking at your phone for the time. it was midnight.

illumi laughed at your facial expression, and that was the first time you heard him laugh all night. a real laugh. Not a chuckle, or a giggle, but a laugh. funny to think he was only laughing at the fear displayed across your face
