side note: altogether, this chapter ALONE was more than 25k words, which was wayyy too long to read in one sitting, so to make it easier for you all to read and digest, ive decided to split this chapter up into parts ! so if it feels like the chapter ends at a weird part, that's why lol
another thing i wanted to add is that i've been really hard on myself about my writing these days and have been relentlessly nitpicking these next few chapters. im still kinda nervous about publishing again but im really pushing through not only for you guys, but myself, too bc i genuinely do miss it here. i love when you guys comment and give me feedback but just remember to be nice about it pls lol <3

⠀⠀ Today makes three months since you've been gone, but it still feels like the very first day.
⠀⠀Sometimes I can convince myself that none of it was real, that all of it was just a bad dream, you're actually alive, and I'm just waiting for you to come back from a very long trip. But the sweltering heat of summer has slowly turned into the cold chill of fall. The trees have shed their leaves, and you're still not here. You're still gone.
⠀⠀I miss you. I miss you more than anything.
⠀⠀I miss how colorful the world was when you were here. Sunsets were redder and more intense. The sky was a brighter shade of blue, the leaves on trees a bolder shade of green.
