Thousands of years ago, a girl by the name of Ymir Fritz made a deal with the devil. Through this cursed deal, Ymir was given the power of Titans. She became the Founding Titan, the first of her kind to be able to take the form of a giant humanoid creature whenever she pleased.

After her 13 years of life, Ymir died, but her power lived on.
In Ymir's death, her soul was split into ten Titans, who built the empire of Eldia. The Founding Titan no longer dominated by itself, now being joined by the Attack Titan, the Colossal Titan, the Female Titan, the Armored Titan, the Spiked Titan, the Beast Titan, the Jaw Titan, the Cart Titan, and the War Hammer Titan.
