Fallen For You
A FEW weeks have passed since Jaydee asked permission from my father. He wanted to ask my mother and siblings for permission too, but I told him that it wasn't necessary since they live a bit far.
I started walking outside of the company building and was surprised to see a familiar physique standing just outside. Nakatalikod ito habang nakasuot ng casual na damit. He's also wearing his black cap that he always use.
It looked gloomy outside. Medyo madilim at mukhang uulan na. It's also a bit cold this morning when I went to work.
I stepped outside of the building and made my way towards him. Kinalabit ko siya sa likod at agad naman itong napatingin sa akin.
A smile grew on his lips when he laid eyes on me. Naglandas ang kanyang mata pababa sa akin. He was checking me out that made me self conscious. Mas lalo lamang lumaki ang ngiti sa kanyang labi nang matapos tingnan ang aking kabuoan.
He looked back in my eyes and gave me a pat on the head. Bahagya akong napapikit dahil sa ginawa niya.
"Ang ganda-ganda mo pa rin kahit kakagaling mo lang sa trabaho," he said that immediately made my cheeks burn.
I'm only wearing a simple white three-fourths sleeved blouse paired with white trousers. I also chose my nude heels and beige handbag. I didn't do anything special with my hair and face. Just a few makeup that I haven't even retouched for hours.
Hindi ko alam kung anong nakita niya sa akin. I think this guy just really likes me.
My cheeks were burning as I looked up at him. Even though I was already wearing heels, he was still taller than me. "You like me too much, Alegre," pang-aasar ko sa kanya.
He crossed his arms on top of his chest and acted like he was thinking. "Hmm... Totoo naman," pagsang-ayon niya. My brows furrowed. Is he saying that he only complimented me because he likes me too much?
Mabilis niyang napansin ang bahagya kong pagsimangot dahilan para mabilis siyang bumawi. "Pero totoo rin namang maganda ka kahit kakagaling mo lang sa trabaho."
He reached for my face and softly massaged the gap between my eyebrows. "'Wag ka nang sumimangot. Baka daanan ka ng masamang hangin, hindi na maalis ang simangot mo. Sige, baka pumangit ka," pananakot nito sa akin.
I lightly hit him on his chest. Like that will stop me from frowning. "Okay. Eh 'di hindi mo na ako magugustuhan," sagot ko.
Natawa ito sa sinagot ko sa kanya. He placed his arms around my shoulders and pulled me closer to his body. We started walking side by side.
"Hindi, ah! Sino nagsabing hindi na kita magugustuhan kapag pangit ka na? Nako, fake news peddler," he said. "Gugustuhin pa rin kita. Pero, baka mabawasan lang nang kaunti," he added with a hint of playfulness in his voice. He even raised his hand and showed me a pinch of how much his likeness for me will decrease.
Mabilis kong tinanggal ang pagkakaakbay niya sa akin at saka lumayo mula sa kanya. I crossed my arms on top of my chest and started walking faster than him.
"Bahala ka dyan. I'm eating dinner alone," nagtatampo kong saad.
Tumakbo ito palapit sa akin at muling binalik ang akbay sa akin. "Hala, nagtampo na siya," bulong niya sa sarili niya.
I didn't even ask for his opinion and just walked straight to a Korean restaurant. I was craving kimchi that I had to eat it. I also ordered ramen to pair with the cold weather.
Hindi naman ako seryoso na nagtampo kay Jaydee. I was only joking and he knew that. He ordered his own pair of food and we ate together.
Papatapos pa lamang kaming kumain ay agad ko nang napansin ang bagong nagsisimulang ulan. The repeated sound of the raindrops on the ceiling proved it together with the sudden coldness of the room.
